XRP Ledger Activity Stages Strong Revival as Daily Transactions Hold Above 2 Million in September

Daily XRP Ledger transactions have stayed above the 2 million mark since the start of September 2026, even as price uncertainty persists across the market. According to on-chain data from XRPScan, a leading XRP Ledger block explorer, the network has sustained this activity level for up to a week as usage continues to recover.

The current strength marks a shift from mid-June through late July 2026, when the network averaged roughly 1.5 million daily transactions and failed to consistently break the 2 million threshold. Prior to that slump, activity had ranged between 2.4 million and 2.6 million transactions in May before declining.

The XRP Ledger is a public blockchain built for payments and settlement, and transaction counts are one of the most direct measures of whether that utility is actually being used. Sustained activity at these levels is therefore watched closely as an indicator of network demand independent of XRP's price swings.

XRP Transactions Recover in August

Signs of recovery emerged in early August. Daily XRP transactions climbed above 2.3 million by Aug. 4 and then rose to 3 million on Aug. 5 — a four-month peak for XRP Ledger activity.

Notably, the surge in network activity coincided with intense selling pressure on XRP's price, which declined steadily from $1.0864 on Aug. 3 to $0.99 by Aug. 11. The divergence illustrates that on-chain usage and token price do not always move together.

After the 3 million peak on Aug. 5, activity cooled and fluctuated between roughly 1.6 million and 2.7 million for the remainder of August. This period overlapped with XRP's price rebound, as the asset rallied from $0.98 on Aug. 17 to $1.69 by Aug. 22 before meeting resistance and pulling back. Even so, transaction activity failed to remain consistently high during the rebound.

XRP Transactions Show Consistency in September

The uneven pattern finally changed at the end of August. Daily XRP Ledger transactions crossed 2 million on Aug. 31, and the network has held above that level throughout September so far.

Transactions reached 2.3 million on Sept. 1 before dipping to 2.193 million the following day. Activity then recovered to 2.572 million by Sept. 3, the highest daily figure recorded this month.

Although the transaction count has declined since that peak, it has remained above 2 million throughout September. The network has recorded 722,000 transactions so far today, leaving open the question of whether the current pace can be maintained as the day progresses.

XRP Active Accounts and Payments Also Recover

Transaction growth is not the only sign of renewed activity on the XRP Ledger. The number of active accounts also increased in September after falling to just 3,898 on Aug. 30. The network reached 14,841 active accounts on Aug. 31, and growth continued into September, with active accounts hitting a monthly high of 17,222 on Sept. 4. While the figure declined on Sept. 5 and 6, daily active accounts have stayed above 13,000 this month.

Daily XRP payments have likewise followed the broader recovery. Payments fell to 540,695 on Aug. 30 but rebounded to 879,868 by Sept. 1. Since then, daily payments have remained above 800,000, reaching a monthly high of 978,555 on Sept. 3 — the same day XRP Ledger transactions recorded their September peak of 2.572 million.

Taken together, the rise in XRP transaction counts, active accounts, and payments confirms renewed network activity on the XRP Ledger in September following the August price rally. For observers of the network, the key question ahead is whether these usage metrics can hold above their August lows on a sustained basis, particularly given that the September surge coincided with heightened volatility across the broader crypto market. Whether the network can sustain these elevated levels as the month progresses remains to be seen.
