X has launched the X Cashtag Partner Program in the United States, allowing users to trade assets through participating brokerages after discovering and discussing them on the platform.
The program launched Tuesday with Interactive Brokers, Moomoo, Gemini, Kraken and Coinbase. Availability through the program is tied to these participating brokerages, and users are directed to a brokerage to sign in or register before completing a transaction.
“With our Cashtag partners, we’re connecting the financial conversation to action. People come to X to discover what’s happening, shape the conversation, and act in real-time on what matters to them,” Monique Pintarelli, SpaceXAI’s head of global advertising, said. “Our Cashtag partners make it possible to move seamlessly from discovery and conversation to a brokerage, without breaking the moment.”
Cashtags turn ticker symbols for stocks, exchange-traded funds and cryptocurrencies into interactive pages featuring real-time market information and related posts on X. The feature is designed to connect the platform’s financial discussions with access to participating brokerages, rather than execute transactions directly within X.
According to X, users can tap a supported Cashtag to view an asset’s price chart and related conversation. They can then select “Trade” to be directed to a participating brokerage, where they can sign in or register before completing a transaction.
“Crypto markets move quickly, and people want access to information and tools that can keep pace. By connecting Cashtags on X with Coinbase, we’re helping users go from discovery to decision-making and trading in just a few clicks,” David Farmer, Coinbase’s vice president of product, said in comments on the launch.
