X has renewed promotion of its Cashtag Partner Program, linking U.S. users with stock and crypto trading platforms directly from the timeline. The Sept. 22 push by X Business connected supported ticker pages with Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini, Interactive Brokers and Moomoo. Stock trading routes include Interactive Brokers and Moomoo, while crypto trading access covers Coinbase, Kraken and Gemini.
The program shortens the path between market discussion and order placement. However, users still complete transactions on a participating broker or exchange rather than inside. The renewed promotion did not alter that execution model and did not announce in-app settlement capabilities.
X Business promoted the program again on Sept. 22 with the phrase “timeline. ticker. trade.” The company said Cashtag Partners connect financial conversations with trading access across stocks and cryptocurrencies. The renewed promotion arrived one week after the underlying U.S. program launched on Sept. 15 with five participating platforms. X positioned Cashtags as interactive destinations containing price charts, related posts and links to brokerage services.
Cashtags Pushed Deeper Into Trading
According to X Business, users can tap supported Cashtags before selecting a “Trade” option. The feature then routes them toward a participating platform for account access and execution.
Kraken confirmed its participation on Sept. 16 and described itself as an official U.S. launch partner. The exchange said supported crypto Cashtags could route users directly to Kraken for transaction completion. The setup matters because execution remains outside X: Kraken handles customer access, order processing and available crypto products after users leave the Cashtag page.
Interactive Brokers also confirmed its integration on Sept. 15. The broker said U.S. investors could move from stock or crypto conversations toward its trading platform. Its announcement cited Apple and Bitcoin as examples of searchable Cashtags. Users can view market data on X before selecting Interactive Brokers through the embedded trading option.
Stock Trading Connected With Market Conversations
The integration gives stock trading a more direct path from social discussion to brokerage platforms. Interactive Brokers said users could research further or place orders after arriving on its service.
Moomoo also joined the first group of U.S. brokerage partners. Its official community announcement said a Cashtag could route users toward the corresponding stock page on Moomoo. The broker described access to market data, research tools and order placement after the handoff.
That structure keeps brokerage functions separate from X’s social and market-information layer. X therefore acts as a discovery and routing interface under the documented program. It does not become the executing broker merely because users begin the process through Cashtags.
This separation also shapes how statements about “trading on X” should be understood. The timeline can start the transaction path, but partner platforms complete the order.
Crypto Trading Routes Expanded
Crypto trading forms the other major part of the Cashtag rollout. Coinbase, Kraken and Gemini appear among the five launch partners identified by X, giving crypto three of the five launch slots compared with two for equities.
Kraken said tapping a supported crypto ticker could send U.S. users toward its platform. Existing customers can log in, while new users can begin account registration. The model links crypto discussion, price information and exchange access within fewer steps.
Still, asset availability depends on each provider’s supported products and customer eligibility. That distinction prevents the Cashtag program from functioning like a unified exchange. Different partners can offer different assets, account rules and execution services.
For X, the product places transaction links beside financial discussion already happening through ticker-tagged posts. For exchanges, it creates another source of user traffic from market conversations.
Execution Stays With Brokerage Partners
Interactive Brokers said its integration provides a path from X toward research or order placement. Kraken separately confirmed that users complete crypto transactions on its own platform. Those statements establish the current product boundary: X supplies the Cashtag page, conversation, pricing context and partner selection before handing users elsewhere.
Moomoo’s announcement described the same structure for equities. Users can move from a ticker discussion toward Moomoo’s market page before deciding whether to trade.
The commercial terms between X and participating platforms were not disclosed in the reviewed primary announcements. X also did not publish a timetable for adding more U.S. partners in its Sept. 22 promotion.
The next verifiable catalyst will be any partner expansion or geographic rollout announced by X. Until then, Cashtags remain a routing layer connecting financial posts with external trading platforms.
