Vertical Data Inc. (OTCQB: VDTA), a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company, has entered into a definitive purchase agreement through its majority-owned subsidiary, Vertical Data Nordic AB, to acquire an existing industrial data center site in Sollefteå Municipality, Central Sweden. The site has 4.5 MW of power capacity.

If completed, the transaction would support Vertical Data’s plan to expand its AI data center footprint. Following the closing, the company intends to continue pursuing an application for up to 100 MW of total power capacity to develop an AI data center facility at the site, according to the company.

The Swedish project is one of several opportunities in Vertical Data’s active conversion pipeline, which the company says represents more than 250 MW of potential data center capacity globally. Closing is expected in the next several weeks, subject to financing, corporate approvals, applicable regulatory clearances and other customary closing conditions.

The proposed acquisition comes as demand grows for specialized AI infrastructure and power capacity for compute-intensive workloads. As AI models become more advanced, data centers require high-performance GPUs and sufficient electricity to support their operation. The planned acquisition would provide Vertical Data with an existing industrial site offering 4.5 MW of power, alongside the potential to scale the site to 100 MW. The distinction between the site’s existing capacity and the proposed total capacity means that any larger development would depend on the company’s application and the applicable approvals.

The project also reflects the company’s focus on edge data centers and sovereign cloud solutions. Vertical Data provides these services through three platforms: VerticalData.io, which focuses on enterprise GPU provisioning and managed infrastructure; GPUfinancing.com, which provides structured financing for GPU deployments; and Vertical Edge, which holds equity interests in data centers sourced, developed, leased and managed by the company.
