Danish family-owned USTC is set to consolidate its offices in the Greater Copenhagen area into a single hub at the new Marmormolen development in Nordhavn, bringing bunker companies Bunker Holding and Dan-Bunkering under one roof alongside the group's other local businesses.

Employees from Bunker Holding, Dan-Bunkering, Global Risk Management, CM Biomass, Unit IT, Uni-Tankers, Selfinvest, and USTC itself will be based together in the hub, the group said in a press release on Monday.

The lease takes effect on December 1, 2026, with the companies moving in in phases after that.

The hub will accommodate more than 150 workstations across more than 3,000 square metres on the sixth floor of the building, with access to rooftop terraces, a canteen, lounge areas, and cafes.

The consolidation reflects a broader pattern among shipping and bunker sector players of co-locating business units to share expertise across trading, risk management, and logistics operations as the maritime fuels landscape diversifies. For USTC, whose Bunker Holding group is one of the world's largest bunker suppliers and whose activities span derivatives trading via Global Risk Management, biofuels and biomass via CM Biomass, and tanker shipping via Uni-Tankers, a shared base brings trading-adjacent functions physically closer together. The move also places the group in Nordhavn, a former industrial port area of Copenhagen undergoing large-scale redevelopment as a mixed-use waterfront district.

USTC already operates similar shared hubs in Houston and Singapore, and says the experience from those will help it assess further hubs elsewhere.

"In locations such as Houston and Singapore, we already have USTC Hubs where several of our companies are based together. This has created strong professional communities and valuable synergies across our organisation. We have therefore wanted to establish a similar concept in Copenhagen for some time," said co-owner and CEO Nina Østergaard.

The aim is closer collaboration rather than making the companies more alike, she said.

"The hub is intended to be a platform for closer collaboration and knowledge sharing, but the aim is not to make our companies the same. Quite the opposite. Their differences are an important part of our strength. Each company has its own capabilities and direction."

Østergaard said a strong Copenhagen base would also bring the group closer to the businesses, professional communities, and capabilities it will need, and give it "a stronger hand when it comes to attracting talented people."

Designed by Henning Larsen, Marmormolen is described by USTC as set to be one of Denmark's largest timber buildings, with facades overlooking the Nordhavn waterfront.

Headquartered in Middelfart, USTC operates from 139 offices in 38 countries with more than 4,000 employees, and reported revenue of DKK 98 billion in its last financial year.
