U.S. crypto exchange-traded funds recorded a combined $1.29 billion in net outflows during the trading week of Oct. 5–9, according to Farside Investors' tracking tables for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Hyperliquid and Zcash products. Bitcoin and Ether funds drove the bulk of the withdrawals, and all five tracked categories ended the week in negative territory.
Farside Investors' daily figures put combined Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF withdrawals at $1.22 billion across the five trading sessions. The remaining three categories — Solana, Zcash and Hyperliquid — added $65.2 million in net outflows. Outflows of this scale directly shrink the assets those products manage, which is why Farside's session-by-session tables are widely referenced as a gauge of demand for crypto exposure through U.S.-listed funds.
The reversal marks a sharp turn from the prior week. Between Sept. 28 and Oct. 2, the same five categories had attracted a combined $29.2 million, with Bitcoin's inflows offsetting withdrawals elsewhere. Bitcoin's about-face pushed the latest aggregate deeply negative — a week-over-week swing of roughly $1.32 billion, from net intake to net exit, with no category left to cushion the losses.
Bitcoin ETFs lose $678.9 million despite Friday inflows
Bitcoin funds logged three negative sessions against two positive ones. The category lost $89.8 million on Monday before attracting $118.8 million in inflows on Tuesday.
Midweek proved decisive: Wednesday delivered the largest daily withdrawal at $484.9 million, followed by another $244.1 million in exits on Thursday. A $21.1 million inflow on Friday trimmed the weekly loss to $678.9 million — a stark contrast to the $241.1 million in net inflows recorded the previous week.
At the fund level, Fidelity's FBTC led all withdrawals with $380.3 million, followed by ARK 21Shares' ARKB at $207.2 million. Grayscale's GBTC shed $47.5 million and Bitwise's BITB lost $45.3 million, while BlackRock's IBIT finished marginally positive at $1.1 million. Those four largest losers alone accounted for $680.3 million in combined withdrawals — more than the category's entire net loss — meaning gains elsewhere, including IBIT's positive finish plus inflows into Morgan Stanley's MSBT and Franklin Templeton's EZBC, cushioned the total.
IBIT traced the category's broader pattern: inflows of $191.9 million across Monday and Tuesday were erased by a $207.7 million withdrawal on Wednesday, followed by a $5.5 million exit on Thursday and a $22.4 million inflow on Friday.
Elsewhere in the category, Morgan Stanley's MSBT gained $7.8 million and Franklin Templeton's EZBC added $4.7 million. Grayscale's Bitcoin Mini Trust lost $11 million, and VanEck's HODL finished $1.2 million lower.
Ethereum ETFs record five straight days of withdrawals
Ethereum funds saw every session of the week end in outflows, totaling $542.2 million — up from $138.1 million during Sept. 28–Oct. 2.
Monday's $50.8 million withdrawal was followed by the week's largest daily exit of $201.9 million on Tuesday. Funds then lost $160.9 million on Wednesday, $72.5 million on Thursday and $56.1 million on Friday.
BlackRock's ETHA accounted for $477.1 million, roughly 88% of the category's weekly total. Its Tuesday withdrawal alone matched the entire category's $201.9 million outflow that day — an illustration of how, when one fund dominates a category's flows, the group's weekly figure can hinge on a single issuer.
Grayscale's ETHE lost $31.9 million for the week, while Fidelity's FETH recorded $13.4 million in net withdrawals. Bitwise's ETHW shed $5.9 million and 21Shares' TETH lost $7.5 million. VanEck's ETHV and Invesco's QETH posted exits of $3.7 million and $2 million respectively, and Grayscale's Ethereum Mini Trust also lost $2 million.
Morgan Stanley's MSSE was the only Ethereum fund in Farside's table to finish positive, adding $1.3 million on Thursday. BlackRock's ETHB and Franklin Templeton's EZET recorded no net flows.
Solana ETFs shed $25 million across five negative sessions
Solana products registered withdrawals every trading day, totaling $25 million, compared with a much smaller $800,000 net inflow the previous week.
Monday's $9.2 million exit was the largest daily withdrawal. Tuesday recorded $3.7 million in outflows, followed by $4.8 million on Wednesday, $3.5 million on Thursday and $3.8 million on Friday.
Bitwise's BSOL accounted for $21 million of the weekly withdrawals, with negative flows on four sessions; Farside recorded no net movement for the fund on Tuesday. The FSOL product lost $2.1 million on Monday, and Grayscale's GSOL shed $3.7 million on Tuesday. Morgan Stanley's MSOL partly offset those exits with $1.8 million of inflows on Thursday.
VSOL, TSOL and SOEZ recorded no net flows during the period. Farside's cumulative total for the Solana category stood at approximately $1.58 billion after Friday's session — benchmark against which the week's $25 million in withdrawals remains a small fraction, even as the five-session streak left the weekly tally negative.
Zcash and Hyperliquid funds add $40.2 million in exits
Farside's Zcash table logged $30.8 million in weekly withdrawals, all from ZCSH. Monday brought a $3.6 million exit, Wednesday added $8.5 million and Thursday recorded $18.7 million, while Tuesday and Friday showed no net flows.
The latest loss followed $77.6 million of withdrawals during Sept. 28–Oct. 2, bringing combined redemptions across the two five-session periods to $108.4 million.
Hyperliquid products lost $9.4 million during the week, according to Farside's separate table, reversing the previous week's $3.4 million inflow. THYP accounted for $12.4 million in withdrawals, split between $2.7 million on Monday and $9.7 million on Thursday. Tuesday's inflows of $1 million into BHYP and $2 million into HYPG partly offset those redemptions. Wednesday and Friday recorded no net flows across the three products.
Farside refreshes its tables after each U.S. trading session, so the coming week's daily prints will show whether outflows persisted across all five categories or individual funds — as with Friday's $21.1 million into Bitcoin products — returned to net inflows.
