U.S. Bank has announced that Chris Peary has been named chief private banking officer for Wealth Management. U.S. Bank, the flagship banking arm of U.S. Bancorp, is one of the largest banks in the United States.
In this role, Peary will be responsible for advancing Wealth Management's strategy to deliver integrated banking, credit and wealth solutions for affluent, high net worth and ultra high net worth clients. He will also oversee a relationship-driven private banking platform focused on delivering a consistent, high-quality client experience across all markets. Private banking relationships with affluent and high net worth households are a competitive focus among large U.S. banks.

Peary brings two decades of increasing leadership experience at U.S. Bank. Most recently, he served as national banking lead and West region banking manager for Ascent Private Capital Management of U.S. Bank, while continuing in his role as a client advisor. In those positions, he was responsible for Ascent's national banking leadership initiatives and its growing banking business. He also led teams serving the firm's ultra high net worth clients.
Beyond his most recent responsibilities, Peary has held roles at U.S. Bank in consumer banking, business banking, Private Wealth Management and Ascent since 2016. That cross-business background aligns with the integrated banking, credit and wealth model his new role is charged with advancing.
Peary's academic and professional credentials include a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Colorado Boulder and a master's degree in finance from the University of Colorado Denver. He also completed the Executive Leadership Certification program at Pacific Coast Banking School through the University of Washington.
