TrustLinq Expands Ripple Partnership, Enabling RLUSD-Funded Bank Payments to 190+ Countries
Key Takeaways
- •TrustLinq CH AG now enables RLUSD holders to fund fiat payments to third-party bank accounts in more than 190 countries and over 80 currencies directly from self-custodial wallets.
- •The service builds on Ripple Payments settlement infrastructure and delivers transfers through SEPA, Faster Payments, ACH, local corridors or SWIFT, with most arriving the same or next business day, while recipients never interact with cryptocurrency.
- •RLUSD, a dollar stablecoin issued by Ripple under a New York Department of Financial Services trust charter and launched in December 2024, is supported on TrustLinq in its ERC-20 form on Ethereum, joining existing support for USDT, USDC and EURC.
- •A January 2026 analysis by McKinsey and Artemis Analytics found that only about USD 390 billion of the roughly USD 35 trillion moving annually over stablecoin rails, roughly one percent, represents real-world payments such as payroll, invoices and remittances, a gap the new capability is designed to address.
- •TrustLinq operates as a Swiss financial intermediary under anti-money-laundering supervision by SO-FIT, a self-regulatory organisation recognised by FINMA, and RLUSD support is available immediately to all verified clients with no integration required.

Steinhausen, Switzerland, October 13, 2026 — Holders of the Ripple USD (RLUSD) stablecoin can now pay suppliers, staff and landlords worldwide directly from self-custodial wallets through TrustLinq, with recipients receiving ordinary bank transfers in their local currency, according to an announcement published via Chainwire.
TrustLinq CH AG, a Swiss-regulated crypto-to-fiat payment platform, has expanded its partnership with Ripple by enabling third-party fiat payments funded from RLUSD, the US dollar-denominated stablecoin issued by Ripple under a New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) trust charter. Stablecoins are digital tokens designed to hold a fixed value against a reference currency, allowing dollar-equivalent value to move across blockchain networks. RLUSD launched in December 2024 following NYDFS approval and is available on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum. Clients holding RLUSD (ERC-20) can now pay any third-party bank account in more than 190 countries and over 80 currencies directly from self-custodial holdings.
The expansion builds on the companies’ existing collaboration, under which Ripple Payments settlement infrastructure powers TrustLinq’s global fiat payouts. RLUSD was designed for enterprise-grade payments and institutional use, and the new capability gives holders a direct route into real-world settlement.
How the payment flow works
Funds remain in the client’s own wallet — a self-custodial arrangement in which the holder, rather than an exchange or custodian, controls the assets — connected to a dedicated payment vault, until the moment a payment executes. TrustLinq converts the required amount and delivers a bank transfer to the recipient through SEPA, Faster Payments, ACH, local payment corridors or SWIFT, with most transfers arriving the same or next business day. SEPA serves euro-denominated transfers across Europe, ACH carries US bank payments, Faster Payments is the United Kingdom’s near-instant transfer network, and SWIFT connects banks worldwide. Recipients need only a bank account and do not interact with cryptocurrency at any point.
Targeting a structural gap in stablecoin usage
The capability addresses a structural gap in stablecoin adoption. Analysis published by McKinsey and Artemis Analytics in January 2026 found that of approximately USD 35 trillion moving over stablecoin rails annually, roughly USD 390 billion — about one percent — constituted real-world payments such as payroll, invoices and remittances, with business-to-business payments the fastest-growing segment. Holding a dollar-pegged token does not, by itself, let a holder settle a supplier invoice or a salary in someone’s local currency, and that missing bridge is what this announcement is designed to address.
TrustLinq’s model targets that gap by settling obligations in fiat directly from self-custody, rather than requiring holders to sell through an exchange and transfer funds onward from a personal bank account.
“Stablecoin holders have never lacked ways to trade; they have lacked ways to pay,” said Lili Metodieva, Co-Founder of TrustLinq. “RLUSD was built as regulated, enterprise-grade digital money, and this expansion gives it the last mile: a supplier invoice in Vietnam, a salary in Germany, rent in Dubai, paid straight from self-custody and arriving as ordinary bank transfers. Swiss regulation is what makes that possible at global scale.”
Swiss regulatory oversight and platform coverage
TrustLinq operates as a Swiss financial intermediary subject to anti-money-laundering supervision through SO-FIT, a self-regulatory organisation recognised by FINMA, Switzerland’s financial markets regulator, which gives recipient banks a regulated Swiss counterparty on every transfer. Clients verify once at onboarding; from then on, initiating a payment takes minutes.
The platform supports payments from USDT (ERC-20 and TRC-20), USDC, EURC and RLUSD — placing Ripple’s token alongside some of the most widely held dollar- and euro-denominated stablecoins in the market — and serves individuals and businesses for use cases including supplier invoices, payroll, contractor payments, rent and tuition.
RLUSD support is available immediately to all verified TrustLinq clients, with no integration required. While RLUSD also circulates on the XRP Ledger, funding on TrustLinq currently uses the token’s ERC-20 form on Ethereum. Coverage by destination and currency is published on the company’s supported countries and currencies page.
