A 14-day event with Decibel will pit tokenized stocks, gold and oil against BTC, ETH and SOL in a self-custodial competition with a $25,000 USDC prize pool.

Tria, the self-custodial neofinance platform, has launched TradFi vs Crypto, which it describes as the industry’s first trading competition to pit tokenized real-world assets directly against cryptocurrencies under identical conditions on a self-custodial platform. The event is being developed in partnership with Decibel, the Aptos Labs-incubated perpetuals exchange, and runs for 14 days across two parallel arenas: TradFi and Crypto. Traders can access and trade across the full range of TradFi and crypto assets without being limited to a single market or asset class.

Trading competitions have become a regular feature of the crypto industry, but they have almost always focused on digital assets traded on centralized exchanges. Tria said TradFi vs Crypto is the first time tokenized real-world assets and cryptocurrencies will compete head-to-head under the same rules, providing a public comparison of where traders choose to deploy capital. That framing matters because tokenized stocks, commodities and other real-world assets are increasingly part of digital finance discussions, while trading contests typically measure only crypto-native activity.

The competition also differs from most large trading contests because participants do not need to transfer assets into exchange-controlled wallets for the duration of the event. Instead, they trade directly from wallets they control and remain in self-custody throughout, keeping the competition aligned with the platform’s broader crypto-native focus.

“Tokenized real-world assets have become one of the biggest stories in digital finance, but there has never been a straightforward way to measure how traders actually value them against crypto,” said Vijit Katta, co-founder of Tria. “For the next fourteen days, the market gets to answer that question. At the same time, we’re showing that traders no longer have to sacrifice self-custody to participate in large-scale trading competitions.”

Running from August 5 through August 19, the competition places both asset classes under identical conditions, creating a public comparison between demand for tokenized stocks, commodities and traditional crypto assets. The event is intended to show which market participants gravitate toward when the incentives, timeframe and rules are the same, while also giving traders a way to participate in both arenas simultaneously.

The competition has two independent leaderboards. The Crypto arena will distribute $15,000 USDC among its top ten traders, while the TradFi arena will distribute $10,000 USDC to its top ten finishers. First place will receive $4,000 in the Crypto arena and $2,500 in the TradFi arena. Traders may compete in both arenas at the same time and qualify for rewards in each independently.

Participants enter automatically after placing their first qualifying trade, with no registration or claim process required. Traders who accumulate $15,000 in total trading volume during the competition window become eligible for leaderboard prizes. Those who trade $10,000 or more in a single day will automatically receive an entry into that day’s raffle for either a VIP tier upgrade or a cash prize.

Rewards will be paid directly in USDC to participants’ Tria Decibel Wallets.
