Key Takeaways
- •Binance Research estimated July tokenized equity trading volume at $18.2 billion, the highest monthly total so far in 2026.
- •Decentralized exchanges handled $12.8 billion of July’s tokenized equity volume, compared with $5.4 billion on centralized exchanges.

- •Binance Research said the broader tokenized RWA market grew 589% from early 2025 to mid-2026.

Tokenized equities had a breakout month in July, with trading volume reaching $18.2 billion, according to Binance Research. The figure marked a 4.4x increase from June and, on a single-month basis, exceeded the total volume recorded over the previous six months combined.
Year-to-date volume for 2026 now stands at $34.3 billion, and more than half of that total came from July alone.
DEXs capture the majority of trading volume
The distribution of activity shows decentralized exchanges taking the lead. DEXs accounted for $12.8 billion of the $18.2 billion total, while centralized exchanges handled the remaining $5.4 billion.
Binance Research noted that DEX platforms provide on-chain pricing in real time and support weekend trading, allowing market participants to respond to equity price moves before traditional markets reopen on Monday. That combination of 24/7 access and transparent settlement is part of what makes tokenized equities a distinct category within the broader push to bring traditional assets on-chain.
Binance’s bStocks grows rapidly after launch
A large part of the July surge centered on Binance’s bStocks platform, which launched on June 11, 2026. Within seven weeks, the platform accumulated more than $500 million in assets under management. By late July, that growth had translated into a 27% share of the global tokenized equity market capitalization.
Earlier in July, the overall tokenized equity market cap was estimated at between $1.5 billion and $1.7 billion.
CoinDesk separately reported $11.3 billion in trading volume for tokenized stocks and ETFs in July, with much of that activity attributed to a single Binance-linked token. The gap between Binance Research’s $18.2 billion estimate and CoinDesk’s $11.3 billion figure likely reflects differences in methodology and platform coverage.
Specific products contributed heavily to the volume increase. SPY-related trading volume rose to 2.3% of the monthly total, up from 0.4% in June. Products such as QQQB, a tokenized version tied to the Nasdaq-100, also helped drive the jump. Cumulative trading volume on BNB Chain alone exceeded $5 billion in July.
Tokenized RWAs continue to expand
Tokenized equities are part of the broader real-world asset, or RWA, category. Binance Research data shows the tokenized RWA market grew 589% from early 2025 to mid-2026, underscoring how quickly tokenized financial products have moved from a niche experiment to a measurable part of on-chain market activity.
