LNG bunker supplier Titan Clean Fuels and shipowner Sogestran Group have signed a long-term agreement to build, charter and operate a new 6,000 m3 LNG bunker vessel in the Western Mediterranean.
Titan said in an announcement today that it plans to use the vessel to supply LNG and liquefied biomethane (LBM) to LNG-fuelled ships at ports including Fos-Marseille, Barcelona and Genoa. The vessel will also provide gas-up and cool-down services, which are part of the wider support needed for LNG-fuelled ship operations.
The two companies jointly designed the vessel for the operating conditions of Western Mediterranean ports and terminals. Its low-air-draft design will allow it to bunker cruise ships without a pontoon, a feature that can be relevant at ports where access constraints affect how ships are supplied.
The LNG/LBM-fuelled vessel will be built by CIMC SOE in China and will expand Molgas Group’s LNG bunker vessel fleet.
Last year, Molgas Group completed the full acquisition of LNG bunker supplier Titan Clean Fuels.
