Bankjoy, a provider of digital banking solutions for community financial institutions, announced that TEN Credit Union (TENCU), a Nashville-based credit union founded in 1950 that serves Tennessee educators and their communities, has selected Bankjoy as its digital banking platform. TENCU will launch Bankjoy on the same day it converts to Corelation’s KeyStone core, meaning members will move to a new core and a new digital banking experience in a single, coordinated conversion. The announcement did not disclose a specific go-live date.
The coordinated timing reflects a priority TENCU leaders emphasized in the announcement: digital banking must be fully operational from the moment the new core goes live. Core systems are a financial institution’s account- and transaction-processing backbone — the layer that digital banking depends on for balances and member data — which is what makes the timing so consequential.
“Credit unions moving to KeyStone want a digital partner that already knows the core. That experience is what we bring to TENCU, along with real-time fraud protection and tools that help members do more with their money,” said Michael Duncan, CEO of Bankjoy.
Under the agreement, TENCU members will have access to both consumer and business digital banking from Bankjoy, protected by FraudSense, Bankjoy’s real-time, multi-layered fraud prevention platform. The launch also includes advanced card controls delivered through a tight integration with Velera. JoyCompass, Bankjoy’s financial wellness platform, and Plaid-powered account verification and aggregation are also part of the agreement and can be switched on after launch. The announcement did not specify when those follow-on services would go live.
Direct Integration Through KeyBridge
According to the announcement, Bankjoy connects directly to KeyStone through Corelation’s KeyBridge API and was the first fintech certified through Corelation’s vendor certification program. That direct integration allows TENCU to run its digital banking on its new core from the first day, with no second digital conversion to plan afterward.
“A core conversion is the most important project a credit union can undertake. Our members trust us to get this right, and we know digital banking has to be ready on day one. We can’t treat it as an afterthought,” said Michael Roussel, Chief Innovation Officer. “Bankjoy has proven to work seamlessly with KeyStone, and we’re confident they’ll not only be an awesome partner to TENCU, but they will deliver the best experience for our members.”
“TENCU has served Tennessee educators and their communities for more than 75 years, and we’re honored they chose Bankjoy for their next chapter,” Duncan added. “Credit unions moving to KeyStone want a digital partner that already knows the core and has launched on it many times. That experience is what we bring to TENCU, along with real-time fraud protection and tools that help members do more with their money.”
Measurable Engagement Gains
TENCU joins a growing group of credit unions that pair Bankjoy with Corelation’s KeyStone core. According to the announcement, credit unions running the two systems together are seeing measurable gains in member engagement. At CommunityWide Federal Credit Union, 91.8% of members who created a budget in JoyCompass remained active in digital banking after three months, compared with 66.4% of members who did not use Spending Analysis. TENCU’s own post-launch engagement numbers will only become measurable once its conversion is complete.
More credit unions are also choosing KeyStone: Corelation reported earlier this month that six credit unions with more than $5.4 billion in combined assets selected the core in the third quarter of 2026.
