Suzuki Philippines, Inc. (SPH) is expanding its Carry lineup with two new purpose-built variants designed “to address the specialized transport and mobility requirements of organizations, local government units, and institutional users,” the company said in a release.

The new Suzuki Carry PUV Class 1 and Suzuki Carry Patrol Van build on the practicality of the Carry platform, with configurations suited for passenger transport and public-service applications. The Carry is a small cab-over commercial truck platform long used in Asian markets for utility, delivery, light cargo, and shuttle applications, and these variants extend that flexibility toward fleet and institutional buyers rather than private consumers.

Carry PUV Class 1 — P849,000

The Carry PUV Class 1 is designed for organizations seeking a “practical and purpose-built” people mover. It features side entry with removable doors and canvas cover, wide windows with roll-up canvas, side-facing seats, and high headroom. The vehicle comes equipped with a fire extinguisher and is Department of Transportation (DoTr)-certified, compliant with PNS 2131:2018 — Public Utility Vehicles Class 1: Dimensional Standard.

That certification matters in the Philippine context: the government’s Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP) requires franchise operators to meet modern vehicle standards, including compliance with the Philippine National Standards (PNS) for PUV body configurations. A DoTr-certified Class 1 unit can therefore be a route for transport cooperatives seeking compliant vehicles for modernization, alongside shuttle-type services.

This configuration makes the Carry PUV Class 1 suitable for transport cooperatives, resorts, local government units, and other organizations requiring this type of passenger vehicle.

Carry Patrol Van — P822,000

The Carry Patrol Van can support the “mobility and operational requirements” of LGUs, barangays, and other organizations needing a dedicated patrol or public-service vehicle. Equipment includes a reversible seat, checkered plate flooring, roll-up canvas covers with locks, an embedded sidestep, and a siren with PA system and blinker. The Patrol Van seats 10 passengers, including the driver.

The Patrol Van’s equipment list — siren, PA system, and blinker — are features typically required for barangay and LGU patrol or emergency-response use in the Philippines, where local government units are a significant market segment for small commercial vehicles.

These features make it a practical option for patrol operations, community assistance, and other public-service activities requiring a versatile and functional vehicle.
