SUI Nears Wedge Decision Point as Sui Network TPS Hits 2,320 and Securitize Adds RWA Asset

Author: The Market Periodical·

Key Takeaways

  • Sui Community said network activity reached 2,320 transactions per second on Aug. 19, above most earlier August readings.
  • The 2,320 TPS figure is a community-reported activity reading, not an official Sui Foundation throughput report.
  • Market commentary says Securitize has brought its first asset onto the Sui Network, expanding its real-world asset tokenization profile.
  • Binance will remove the SUI/BNB spot pair on Aug. 21 at 03:00 UTC, but SUI will remain available on the exchange through other trading pairs.
  • SUI is trading near the lower edge of a falling wedge, with $0.65 as key support and $0.80 to $1.00 as the first breakout zone.
SUI Nears Wedge Decision Point as Sui Network TPS Hits 2,320 and Securitize Adds RWA Asset

SUI remains near a technical decision point as activity on the Sui network accelerates and institutional tokenization efforts surrounding the blockchain expand.

Sui is a Layer 1 blockchain developed by Mysten Labs, a team founded by engineers from Meta's discontinued Diem blockchain project, and built using the Move programming language. SUI itself is the network's native token, used to pay transaction fees and to stake as part of the network's security model.

The token recently traded around $0.70 after recovering from lower levels earlier in August, and it continues to hover close to the lower boundary of a falling wedge on the daily chart. A break below $0.65 would weaken that setup, while a recovery toward the $0.80-$1 area could improve the technical structure.

Sui Network Activity Climbs to 2,320 TPS

Sui Community reported that network activity reached 2,320 transactions per second on Aug. 19, describing the reading in a post on X as one of Sui's strongest TPS measurements during August.

The accompanying chart shows most readings earlier in the month clustered between roughly 400 and 700 TPS. Several temporary spikes pushed activity above those levels before the Aug. 19 increase: a reading around 1,000 TPS appeared near Aug. 10, and another spike approached 1,500 TPS around Aug. 14. The 2,320 TPS figure therefore represented a sharp acceleration compared with most August activity.

The reading, however, comes from Sui Community rather than an official Sui Foundation throughput report, and it is better treated as a reported network-activity reading than a verified performance record.

Sui has also cautioned against using TPS alone when assessing its network. Its Programmable Transaction Blocks can bundle as many as 1,024 operations into a single transaction, which makes Commands Per Second an additional measure of network workload. Raw TPS figures are cited regularly across the Layer 1 sector, but differing definitions of what counts as a transaction make direct comparisons between chains unreliable.

That distinction matters when connecting network activity to SUI's price. Higher transaction counts can indicate stronger usage, but they do not directly measure the economic value flowing through the network.

Securitize Adds to Sui's Institutional RWA Narrative

Institutional adoption forms another part of the developing Sui story. Market commentary points to Securitize bringing its first asset onto the Sui Network, a step that expands Sui's exposure to real-world asset (RWA) tokenization.

Securitize focuses on blockchain-based financial products and the infrastructure used to issue and manage tokenized assets. The firm is a U.S.-registered transfer agent and administers tokenized products including BlackRock's BUIDL institutional fund, making it one of the established operators in an RWA category where large asset managers such as BlackRock and Franklin Templeton already run tokenized funds on public blockchains. Crypto commentator Lucky described the move as another step toward attracting more assets, financial companies, and institutional infrastructure to Sui.

The development remains early, and a single asset does not establish a broad institutional trend. Still, the direction fits Sui's effort to build infrastructure that reaches beyond consumer crypto applications.

Tokenization could also expand network activity if additional products eventually use Sui for transfers, issuance, or settlement. That possibility adds another fundamental factor for traders monitoring the current technical consolidation.

Binance Removes SUI/BNB Pair but Keeps SUI Trading

Binance will stop trading the SUI/BNB spot pair on August 21 at 03:00 UTC. The exchange included the pair in its latest periodic review of spot markets, and several other pairs are also scheduled for removal, including LTC/BNB and selected USDC markets.

Binance reviews factors such as liquidity and trading volume when deciding whether individual trading pairs should remain available.

The distinction between a pair removal and a token delisting is important here. Binance is not removing SUI from its spot market, and traders can continue accessing the token through other available pairs.

SUI Price Analysis Puts $0.65 Support in Focus

SUI trades around $0.72, close to the bottom of a large falling wedge shown on the daily OKX chart. The latest candle on the chart places price near $0.7031. A falling wedge forms when price prints progressively lower highs and lower lows inside a narrowing range, and chart convention treats the pattern as unresolved until price closes decisively beyond one of its boundaries.

Crypto With Gopal identifies $0.65-$0.70 as the main support zone. SUI has repeatedly compressed toward this region while the wedge's upper resistance continues to fall.

The analyst places the first breakout area around $0.80-$1.00. SUI needs to clear the descending trendline before the current setup can qualify as a confirmed bullish reversal. A move above $0.80 would represent the first technical improvement, while reclaiming $1 would provide stronger confirmation and move SUI outside its extended compression structure.

The chart also maps a larger bullish target near $2.70 following a successful wedge breakout. That figure remains a conditional projection rather than a confirmed target.

The downside structure is more immediate. Losing the $0.65 region would push SUI beneath its support and weaken the falling-wedge thesis.

With the structure compressed, the observable checkpoints ahead are whether reported throughput holds above earlier-August levels, whether Securitize brings additional assets to Sui, and how SUI's liquidity sits across its remaining Binance pairs after the Aug. 21 removal. For now, SUI remains compressed between support and descending resistance. The $0.65-$0.70 range defines the downside boundary, while $1 remains the zone bulls need to reclaim.
