How Do ASST and SATA Track Strive’s Bitcoin Treasury?
ASST traded around $19.80 on Monday, up about 8.7%. During the session, the stock reached a high of $20.31 after opening at $18.76.
SATA traded at about $100.01, nearly matching its $100 par value. The share price does not prove that Strive plans to buy another large amount of Bitcoin.
A board director of ASST, Pierre Rochard, bought 15,900 shares of ASST on Aug. 14. Rochard paid $12.54 per share, making the purchase worth $199,386. The filing did not disclose the purpose of the transaction.
One week before the latest purchase, Strive acquired 79 Bitcoin for about $5 million. The company paid $63,231 per bitcoin.
Bitcoin was trading around $79,000 on Monday after briefly approaching $80,000. Strive disclosed the 1,110 BTC purchase for the period from Aug. 17 through Aug. 21.
The move increased Strive’s Bitcoin holdings and also increased the indirect BTC exposure of ASST investors. However, ASST represents equity in the company, not direct ownership of the Bitcoin itself.
SATA preferred shareholders have priority over common shareholders in the order of liquidation and dividends.
