Strategy has resumed its weekly bitcoin purchases, disclosing a fresh acquisition alongside a sizable repurchase of its own preferred stock.
The Nasdaq-listed bitcoin treasury company — the largest corporate holder of bitcoin — spent $21.5 million on 250 bitcoins between October 5 and October 11, according to a Monday filing. The same filing disclosed that it also spent $192.4 million repurchasing its STRC preferred stock, a buyback roughly nine times the size of its weekly bitcoin purchase.
Michael Saylor announced the moves in a post on X:
Strategy has acquired 250 $BTC and repurchased $192M of $STRC . As of 10/11/26, we hold 848,250 BTC and $5.5B of USD Assets. $MSTR

Following the buy, Strategy now holds 848,250 bitcoins, worth $70.2 billion at today's prices, in addition to $5.5 billion in USD assets. Its stock (MSTR) was trading nearly 2% higher on Monday.
The company — formerly MicroStrategy — has bought bitcoin in each of the past four weeks. That marks a shift from previous months, when purchases were more sporadic or halted altogether for months at a time as the firm worked to build a bigger cash buffer.
Monday's filing also shows that the company funded last week's purchase using net proceeds from MSTR stock sales together with its USD Cash buffer. Strategy maintains two cash reserves: a "USD Reserve," used to support the payment of dividends on its preferred stock offerings and interest on its outstanding indebtedness, and a "USD Cash" reserve, which it uses to buy bitcoin.
The company first bought the cryptocurrency in 2020 to protect its shareholders from inflation. Since then, it has aggressively accumulated the asset and pivoted to operating as a bitcoin treasury, a model since adopted by a growing number of public companies.
Investors can now buy its shares to gain heightened exposure to the cryptocurrency, or get paid a yield through its digital credit products. Strategy is focusing on products that pay investors yield via its STRF, STRC, STRK, and STRD preferred shares.
Its Nasdaq-listed stock is down over 50% over the past year after the price of bitcoin took a hit. Since the company began buying bitcoin in August 2020, however, MSTR has appreciated by nearly 1,000%.
Whether the four-week buying streak extends into a fifth will be disclosed in the company's next weekly filing.
