SHOW Token Introduces Fan Participation Model for Film Production in Indonesia

Jakarta, Indonesia (PinionNewswire) — SHOW Token, an entertainment ecosystem combining traditional cinema, blockchain, community participation and artificial intelligence (AI), has introduced a platform designed to give the public a more active role in film production from its earliest stages.

The initiative is based on the view that the relationship between audiences and the film industry has historically been one-directional, with viewers receiving only the completed film and having little or no involvement in the creative and production process behind it.

SHOW Token said it aims to change that structure through its Decentralized Executive Producing model. Under the model, token holders may participate in supporting films, gain exclusive behind-the-scenes access to productions, receive invitations to gala premieres and potentially receive IP-based rewards. The model places audience participation closer to development and production, where financing, creative visibility and community demand can influence how film projects are supported before they reach theaters.

The participatory structure is supported by a digital architecture built around five core pillars: SHOW Token, the core utility asset powering the ecosystem; SHOW Movie, which is based on a watch-and-earn model intended to allow audiences to share in the benefits of a film’s performance; SHOW AI & Marketplace, a space for AI-driven creative content production; SHOW KIDS, which focuses on developing local animated intellectual property (IP); and SHOW Capital & Index, which concentrates on strategic investment allocation and ecosystem value optimization.

As an early example of the model in practice, SHOW Token served as Executive Producer for the horror film “Cerita Lila” in partnership with MVP Pictures. The film reached more than 1,000,000 admissions during its theatrical run.

The company is continuing the effort with its current film project, “Pemikat Jiwa,” in partnership with Makara Productions. It is also working on the upcoming horror title “Sihir Tanah Kubur” with MVP Pictures, which is scheduled for release on July 23, 2026.

During the year, the collaboration aims to support more than 30 additional horror and drama titles in partnership with leading production houses. The planned titles include “Seporsi Mie Ayam Sebelum Mati,” “Taboo” and “Siti Vampire.” The size of the proposed slate makes the partnerships and individual title rollouts central to assessing how the participation model operates across multiple productions rather than a single film.

The initiative is led by Akshay Melwani, Chief Executive Officer of SHOW Token, who is described as the architect of an ecosystem designed to remove traditional capital barriers that have long constrained film production.

Melwani has a professional background in investment banking and equity research at financial institutions including Macquarie and Mandiri Sekuritas. He views public participation not as an additional feature, but as a new foundation for the sustainability of the digital creative economy.

“We are not waiting for the door to the global market to open on its own; we are building a new digital ecosystem so that the work of Indonesian creators can be accessed, owned, and appreciated by audiences around the world,” said Akshay.

“And that begins with bringing audiences into the process itself, rather than treating them only as recipients of the finished product.”

As part of its expansion in Indonesia, SHOW Token was officially listed on Mobee on June 26, 2026, a move the company said makes it easier for the local community to join the ecosystem. The listing is supported by SHOW Token’s US$100 million strategic investment commitment across Southeast Asia, with Indonesia as its primary focus, intended to build a more inclusive architecture for the digital creative economy.

Through a combination of technology, community and strategic investment, SHOW Token said it is committed to accelerating the transformation of Indonesia’s creative economy and positioning the country as an epicenter of technology-driven creative growth in Southeast Asia.
