According to the announcement, the companies integrated Ripple Custody with SettleMint’s Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform, known as DALP. The combined offering targets banks, financial market operators, and other regulated institutions developing tokenized financial products.

For institutions evaluating tokenization, the appeal is not just issuance, but also the ability to manage the operational steps that follow. Bringing custody, governance, and lifecycle controls into one stack can reduce the need to stitch together separate tools across different stages of a product’s life.

How Ripple Custody Secures Institutional Digital Assets

The SettleMint Ripple partnership brings several digital asset functions into one technical foundation. However, the companies did not identify participating institutions, support blockchain networks, or the specific Asian countries covered by the initial rollout.

Ripple Custody provides infrastructure for holding and transferring cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, and tokenized real-world assets. It also offers configurable access controls, policy enforcement, and transaction approval workflows designed for institutional operations.

Institutions can install the custody technology within their own infrastructure. This self-custody structure allows each organization to control its private keys instead of transferring control to Ripple or another external custodian.

Ripple says the platform supports hardware security modules and multi-party computation for key management. Its official custody page also lists FIPS 140-2 Level 4 certification, ISO 27001 certification, and SOC 2 Type II compliance.

Why Banks Need Unified Tokenization Infrastructure

SettleMint’s DALP covers the design, issuance, and continuing management of tokenized products. Institutions can apply permissioning, compliance, and governance requirements throughout the lifecycle of each digital asset.

Issuing a token is only one component of the tokenization process. Financial firms need to control investor eligibility, ownership, transfer, corporate actions, settlement, and redemption once the asset goes live.

DALP provides this as the governed control layer for all of these functions. Under the SettleMint Ripple partnership, DALP will cover the broader asset lifecycle.

Ripple Custody will provide the asset custody function and corresponding governance controls. The platform also covers servicing once the token has gone live.

The two firms say that this integration will cut back on the use of multiple unconnected products. The purpose of the integration is to facilitate the move by financial institutions from piloted projects to live applications in one operational model.

What Drives the SettleMint Ripple Partnership in Asia-Pacific

The SettleMint Ripple partnership is currently offered in the Asia-Pacific region. Ripple and SettleMint have not set out any kind of country-by-country roll-out schedule.

Regulated tokenization initiatives have been launched in the Asia-Pacific region, engaging banks, asset managers, and financial market infrastructure organizations.

Singapore has backed institutional initiatives related to tokenized funds, programmable collateral, and stablecoin settlement.

DBS previously paired a tokenized money market fund with RLUSD through an arrangement involving Franklin Templeton and Ripple. Later phases were expected to explore lending and repurchase transactions using tokenized fund units as collateral.

The SettleMint Ripple partnership also refers to the estimate of the Boston Consulting Group for May 2026. The progressive scenario assumes that tokenized real-world assets will account for $88 trillion by 2035, or roughly 16% of global investable assets.

The current deal creates a technical and commercial integration but not proof of institutional issuance completion.

The SettleMint Ripple deal may be further evaluated upon disclosure of participating clients, underlying networks, production implementations, issued products, and transaction volumes.
