Key Takeaways

  • •Samsung Wallet now supports USDC on the Sui blockchain for approximately 82 million U.S. Galaxy device users, with additional international markets planned for later.
  • •Transfers are gasless, allowing users to send USDC with zero network fees and without needing to acquire or hold the SUI token.
  • •USDC is the only digital asset supported at launch, and the wallet does not support the SUI token.
  • •The integration targets the global remittances market linking more than 1.3 billion people, and a Visa survey found 41% of U.S. remittance users willing to use stablecoins for international transfers.
  • •Sui has processed more than $1 trillion in stablecoin transfer volume since August 2025, within a sector where stablecoin transaction volume exceeded $83 trillion over the past twelve months.
Samsung Wallet Integrates USDC on Sui, Bringing Stablecoin Transfers to 82 Million U.S. Galaxy Users

Samsung Electronics has teamed up with the Sui blockchain to bring USDC — the U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin issued by Circle — directly into Samsung Wallet, placing the feature in the hands of roughly 82 million U.S. Galaxy device users at launch. Galaxy customers will be able to hold and send USDC natively inside the wallet, alongside existing functions such as payment cards, digital IDs, tickets, and keys.

The rollout starts in the United States on eligible Galaxy devices, with additional international markets set to follow at a later stage. USDC is the sole digital asset supported at launch; the wallet does not support the SUI token.

The partnership takes aim at the global remittances market, which links more than 1.3 billion people worldwide. A Visa survey spanning 20 markets found that digital applications are already the preferred channel for sending and receiving remittances in every country surveyed. The same survey showed that 41% of U.S. remittance users said they would be willing to use stablecoins for international money transfers — the audience Samsung and Sui hope to reach by embedding blockchain-based payments into an interface consumers already open every day.

Woncheol Chai, EVP and Head of the Digital Wallet Team at Samsung's Mobile eXperience Business, said the collaboration is meant to let Galaxy users benefit from stablecoin payments without having to navigate the complexity of traditional crypto tools. Adeniyi Abiodun, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer of Mysten Labs, the original contributor to Sui, described the integration as a step toward making global dollar transfers available where consumers already are, with Sui supplying the underlying network infrastructure.

The announcement was publicized via Sui's official account on X:

Gasless Rails and Stablecoin Momentum Behind the Move

The technical groundwork for the integration has been several years in the making. Native USDC went live on Sui in 2024, followed by the integration of Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol, which moves native USDC between blockchains. Since August 2025, the network has processed more than $1 trillion in stablecoin transfer volume, and payment infrastructure has been built out across Africa, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and North America.

Central to the rollout is Sui's gasless transaction model, which went live on Mainnet in May 2026. USDC is among the supported assets, meaning users can move stablecoins on Sui without paying network fees and without acquiring or holding SUI to cover gas — a friction point that has historically complicated mainstream blockchain adoption, since most chains require a native token for every transaction.

The timing coincides with broader sector growth: stablecoin transaction volume topped $83 trillion over the past twelve months, while remittances — a market in which roughly one-sixth of the global population already participates — offer a major avenue for further expansion. Inside Samsung Wallet, the transfer flow is designed to feel like sending a message: users open the wallet, select a recipient, and send. The next milestone to watch is the announced expansion into additional international markets, which will extend a feature currently limited to U.S. Galaxy devices.
