Robinhood Chain Real-World Assets Rise Fivefold as Tokenized Stocks Trade in Larger Size

Tokenized real-world assets on Robinhood Chain have climbed to about $70 million in value, a roughly fivefold increase in less than two weeks, as tokenized equities begin trading in larger size.

The blockchain, built to bring equities onchain, has tripled in size since mid-July. A dozen tokenized stocks on Robinhood Chain are now each clearing at least $500,000 in daily volume, led by GameStop, Nvidia and SpaceX, with several of them surpassing $1 million.

The growth marks a shift in activity on a network that was initially dominated by speculative memecoin trading rather than the tokenization use case it was designed to support. Tokenized stocks are blockchain-based representations of traditional equities that can trade around the clock and settle instantly, a concept that has drawn growing interest across traditional finance and crypto. Even so, the move toward real-world assets remains partial: stablecoins and memecoins still account for most activity on Robinhood Chain.

According to DefiLlama, real-world assets on the chain now have an active market value of about $70 million. That is up roughly fivefold from the low tens of millions of dollars, when the category represented only about 4% of the network and memecoins and stablecoins made up most of its usage.

Tokenized equities are now trading in larger amounts. A tokenized GameStop share is recording $26.6 million in daily volume on the exchange, while Nvidia is at $14 million and SpaceX is at $6.4 million. Twelve Robinhood-based tokenized stocks are clearing more than $500,000 a day, including five that are above $1 million.

The emergence of larger stock volumes comes amid a broader push across the financial industry to bring traditional assets onto blockchains. Major asset managers, including BlackRock and Franklin Templeton, have launched tokenized treasury funds on public chains, signaling institutional demand for onchain exposure to conventional financial instruments.

In Robinhood Chain's earliest days, its busiest market was CASHCAT, a memecoin based on Robinhood's abandoned original name. The company was briefly called "CashCat" before its founders chose Robinhood. Robinhood has no role in the token. CASHCAT surged more than 1,700% after CEO Vlad Tenev followed its account, then declined. It is now down about 75% from its peak, while a number of real equities are trading alongside it.

Total value locked on Robinhood Chain has roughly tripled since mid-July to about $312 million, according to DefiLlama. The network is now processing more than $600 million in daily decentralized-exchange volume, placing it among the more active networks in crypto.

The chain's transaction count has also attracted attention, with more than 138 million transactions over 30 days, according to Token Terminal. Still, Robinhood Chain's most-traded tokens remain overwhelmingly memecoins.

On DEX Screener, the top of Robinhood Chain's trending list is populated by tokens such as "Hoodrat," "Vladhood" and "Swole Doge," rather than the tokenized equities the network was built for. Those equities trade on Uniswap but rank much lower in the volume tables.

The tokenized stocks generate roughly $55 million in daily volume, the data shows. That is less than one-tenth of the chain's nearly $600 million in total decentralized-exchange trading, with the rest dominated by memecoins.

Stablecoins remain the largest single presence on the chain, with a combined market value in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Memecoins, including the Robinhood mascot-themed CASHCAT that defined the chain's first weeks, also remain active and heavily traded.

Three weeks ago, the main criticism was that Robinhood had built expensive infrastructure but attracted mostly speculation, with little sign that the tokenized-stock business it promoted would take shape.

That business is now appearing in the form of tens of millions of dollars in real-world assets and a dozen equities trading in meaningful size. However, the segment remains small compared with Robinhood Chain's stablecoin and memecoin ecosystems, and it would need to keep growing to match Robinhood's original tokenization vision.

For now, the data indicates that tokenized stock activity is moving closer to Robinhood's stated objective as the company works toward bringing millions of its retail customers onchain. Whether that retail base ultimately shifts toward equities rather than speculative tokens will determine whether the network fulfills its founding purpose or continues to function primarily as a memecoin venue.
