Ripple Supports fixCleanup3_3_0 as XRP Ledger v3.3.0 Upgrade Advances
Key Takeaways
- •Ripple voted YES on the fixCleanup3_3_0 amendment during its early voting stage, with 8 of 35 Unique Node List validators currently in support.
- •Activation of the amendment requires at least 28 validator votes, representing 80% support, sustained over two consecutive weeks.
- •The amendment bundles fixes for Single Asset Vaults, Lending Protocol, Automated Market Makers, the permissioned DEX, Checks, and pseudo-accounts.
- •Node operators must install version 3.3.0 before the upgrade activates, or their nodes could become amendment-blocked and stop following the updated mainnet rules.
- •Separate proposals including ConfidentialTransfer, BatchV1_1, DynamicMPT, PermissionDelegationV1_1, and Sponsor remain in the independent validator approval process.

Ripple has backed the fixCleanup3_3_0 amendment, which bundles several bug fixes and protocol cleanups for features already deployed or in development on the XRP Ledger. The vote supports the XRP Ledger v3.3.0 upgrade, a release aimed at improving stability, performance, and readiness for institutional and tokenization use cases — areas where the XRPL is competing with Ethereum, Solana, and other layer-1 blockchains that have been more aggressive in building decentralized finance infrastructure.
Ripple cast its vote during the amendment's early voting stage. Voting data showed support from 8 of 35 Unique Node List validators. Activation requires at least 28 votes, equal to 80% support, for two consecutive weeks. The XRPL's consensus model relies on a curated set of validators rather than mining or staking, and amendments are the primary mechanism for protocol-level upgrades.

How XRP Ledger v3.3.0 Expands Vaults and Lending
The bundled amendment covers Single Asset Vaults and the Lending Protocol. It also addresses Automated Market Makers, the permissioned DEX, Checks, and pseudo-accounts. Each change is part of the XRP Ledger 3.3.0 release.
Ripple has previously supported the Single Asset Vault and Lending Protocol amendments. Those proposals would add XRP or RLUSD vaults and credit infrastructure. RLUSD is Ripple's U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin. The changes are designed for decentralized finance and tokenization on the XRP Ledger, capabilities that have historically lagged behind rival chains but are central to the XRPL's institutional roadmap.
Node operators must install version 3.3.0 before the upgrade activates. Older software could become amendment-blocked after the new rules take effect, meaning the node would no longer follow the updated XRP Ledger mainnet rules.
Other proposals remain in the validator process. They include ConfidentialTransfer, BatchV1_1, DynamicMPT, PermissionDelegationV1_1, and Sponsor.
These amendments were announced on Aug. 7 and operate independently from fixCleanup3_3_0. Validator nodes must verify each of them for the rules to go live on the mainnet.
What the New XRP Ledger Amendments Add
ConfidentialTransfer will provide private transfers for Multi-Purpose Tokens. Balances and transfer amounts will be hidden while remaining verifiable for the activity. Issuers or auditors authorized by the XRP Ledger can view the data needed for compliance purposes. Privacy-preserving transfers have become a differentiator across blockchain platforms, particularly for institutional participants subject to regulatory reporting requirements.
BatchV1_1 will allow one account to bundle up to eight inner transactions. Each step can succeed or fail as a group. The structure is intended to support use cases such as atomic swaps. Developers updated the older Batch amendment because of a security flaw.
PermissionDelegationV1_1 is another updated amendment. It will let an account delegate limited transaction permissions to another account while the primary private key remains under the control of the first account.
Some changes in the update are not new features. Developers said the release delivers about 10% to 15% memory savings, along with improved performance for online deletes and node synchronization. XRP Ledger v3.3.0 also includes more test coverage and other optimizations.
XRP Price and Futures Activity
At the time of writing, XRP was trading at around $1.02, having recovered from the $1 mark according to CoinMarketCap. The token was up about 1.5% over 24 hours, while trading volume rose roughly 7% over the same period.
CoinGlass data showed mixed activity across XRP derivatives markets. Total XRP futures open interest fell by more than 1% within one hour after recently exceeding $2.67 billion.
However, CME XRP futures open interest rose 1.31% over 24 hours. Open interest declined on Binance, OKX, Bybit, and several other crypto exchanges.
