Ripple and Robinhood Expand Partnership Covering RLUSD Settlement, Treasury and Prime Brokerage

Ripple and Robinhood have expanded their partnership with a broader agreement announced on October 27, 2026, covering stablecoins, institutional trading and treasury management. The deal extends the use of Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin across Robinhood's retail and institutional businesses while adding Ripple's treasury and prime brokerage services to the relationship. It also covers institutional settlement through the XRP Ledger and financing services for Bitstamp by Robinhood.

Ripple President Monica Long said the partnership combines customer-facing services with financial operations. The scope of the agreement makes it a multi-layer arrangement rather than a single product tie-up, spanning Robinhood's consumer app, its institutional trading business and its own corporate financial operations.

RLUSD Expands Across Robinhood's Digital Asset Business

RLUSD is already available on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood. The companies expect the stablecoin to become available in the Robinhood app later this year. Under the expanded arrangement, Robinhood will also use RLUSD on the XRP Ledger for institutional settlement, extending the stablecoin's role across Bitstamp's institutional business.

Johann Kerbrat, senior vice president and general manager of Robinhood Crypto and International, said the companies would use RLUSD for institutional settlement.

Ripple Treasury to Manage Robinhood's Finances

Beyond stablecoin settlement, Robinhood plans to integrate Ripple Treasury to automate its global financial operations. The system will support cash and liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, payments, risk management and intercompany netting. The move places Ripple's systems inside Robinhood's core financial operations, extending the companies' existing relationship beyond trading and financing services into Robinhood's back-office functions.

The companies will also expand their existing relationship through Ripple Prime, which provides institutional financing, liquidity and market access. Ripple Prime currently offers Bitstamp by Robinhood lending and margin financing across roughly 20 digital assets. Its clients can also trade spot markets on Bitstamp, with support for perpetual futures trading planned for later this year.

Kerbrat said the arrangement connects stablecoin settlement, treasury operations and institutional financing within a single partnership framework.

Stablecoin Market and RLUSD Supply Grow

The announcement comes as stablecoins become part of financial infrastructure beyond crypto trading. The companies cited total stablecoin supply exceeding $300 billion, while RLUSD's market capitalization has surpassed $2.4 billion since its launch in December 2024, still a small share of that total.

Robinhood reported serving 28.6 million funded customers globally, alongside institutional clients through Bitstamp. The expanded partnership brings together Robinhood's customer and institutional trading services with Ripple's stablecoin, treasury and prime brokerage offerings. Near-term markers of the rollout include RLUSD's availability in the Robinhood app and perpetual futures support on Ripple Prime, both planned for later this year, alongside Robinhood's integration of Ripple Treasury.

The full announcement is available in Ripple's official press release.
