Ripple Prime Launches Delta One Business, Backed by Over $1 Billion in Regulatory Net Capital

Ripple is pushing deeper into traditional finance with the launch of its Delta One business under Ripple Prime, a new offering that expands the company's institutional platform into equity derivatives while keeping digital assets at the center of its cross-market strategy.

Ripple announced on August 27 that Ripple Prime's Delta One business is now live, allowing institutional clients to execute Total Return Swaps (TRS) linked to U.S.-listed equities, market indices, and digital assets.

Ripple Prime Opens Access to Delta One Swaps

The service is tailored for hedge funds, asset managers, and other finance professionals with varying risk, reporting, and investment needs. Under a Total Return Swap, clients gain economic exposure to the underlying asset without actually acquiring or investing in the asset itself, while Delta One products are designed to closely track the movements of their underlying assets.

The new service comes in addition to Ripple Prime's existing offering across markets including FX, derivatives, fixed income, digital assets, clearing, and financing, which serve institutions trading across multiple markets. That mix places the new business in a segment where firms increasingly look to consolidate trading, financing, and collateral management under fewer counterparties.

Noel Kimmel, president of Ripple Prime, said the launch is a sign of increased demand for a more streamlined institutional trading environment that works across asset classes.

One Counterparty Across Traditional and Digital Markets

The one-counterparty nature of the new business is a key characteristic of the offering. Instead of managing separate relationships covering equities, foreign exchange, fixed income, and crypto, Ripple Prime clients can access the firm's numerous services through a single platform.

Clients will also be able to cross-margin exposures across these asset classes around the clock, the company added. According to Ripple, this may help institutions manage their collateral and financing across the traditional and digital markets together.

Conflict-Free Execution Model Targets Institutional Clients

Ripple Prime has also taken the path of a conflict-free Delta One, stating that the business is not conducted in combination with proprietary trading or market-making activities - a feature the company describes as central to the offering. Large Delta One desks commonly run side by side with trading businesses that can choose to take market positions; Ripple Prime says its model is instead built around providing flow service for clients without such trading activities.

The launch expands Ripple's presence in institutional market infrastructure, extending the company beyond blockchain-based payments and into financial products.

$275 Million Notes Deal Supports Ripple Prime Expansion

According to the company, Ripple Prime has a regulatory net capital of more than $1 billion. The expansion follows a recently completed, upsized private placement of $275 million in notes, with the funds set to support the continued growth of Ripple Prime. The deal comes after another $200 million debt arrangement earlier this year with funds managed by Neuberger Specialty Finance.

With the new Delta One operation, equities join Ripple Prime's growing multi-asset framework, linking up with digital assets, FX, fixed income, derivatives, clearing, and financing. As its institutional clients come on board, Ripple says the platform is focused on cross-asset access and around-the-clock service across conventional and crypto finance.
