Ripple Launches Ripple Mint for Institutional RLUSD Minting and Management
Key Takeaways
- •Ripple Mint gives institutions a unified platform to mint, redeem, bridge, and monitor RLUSD.
- •The platform supports web-based workflows, API integration, webhook notifications, balance access, transaction tracking, and reference IDs.
- •RLUSD now supports additional networks through Wormhole’s Native Token Transfers framework, extending native transfers across more than 40 blockchains.
- •Ripple said the multichain expansion lets institutions move native RLUSD without relying on wrapped token versions.
- •CoinMarketCap listed RLUSD with a circulating supply of 1.51 billion, and Ripple says it is backed by cash, cash equivalents, and U.S. Treasuries with monthly independent attestations.

Ripple has launched Ripple Mint, a platform designed to give institutions direct access to Ripple USD (RLUSD) and streamline the minting, redemption, bridging, and management of the regulated stablecoin. RLUSD, which debuted in late 2024, is Ripple's entry into a stablecoin market long dominated by Tether's USDT and Circle's USDC, and the new platform signals the company's push to build out the institutional infrastructure layer around the token.
The platform supports both web-based workflows and automated operations through application programming interfaces (APIs), allowing institutional customers to manage RLUSD activity through a user interface or by integrating the process into their existing internal systems. Ripple said the launch is part of its broader effort to expand RLUSD access across additional blockchain networks and support large-scale stablecoin operations. The release comes as institutional demand for regulated, on-chain dollar tokens has grown, particularly following the advancement of U.S. stablecoin legislation such as the GENIUS Act, which established a federal framework for payment stablecoins.
Ripple Mint Adds Web and API-Based RLUSD Workflows
Ripple Mint provides a unified platform for institutions to mint, redeem, bridge, and monitor RLUSD. According to Ripple, the product is aimed at customers that need automation, real-time transaction visibility, and operational connectivity with existing systems.
The company said the platform includes webhook notifications for key events in the stablecoin lifecycle, including fiat receipt, mint processing, blockchain settlement, and payout completion. Institutions can also programmatically access account balances, monitor transaction status, and use consistent reference IDs throughout the minting and redemption process.
Ripple said these features are intended to support institutions handling larger stablecoin workflows, including those that require automated processing and clearer tracking across fiat and blockchain settlement stages. The offering mirrors infrastructure strategies adopted by other major stablecoin issuers, such as Circle's developer APIs, which have become a standard tool for exchanges, fintechs, and payment processors integrating stablecoins into their products.
RLUSD Expands Beyond XRP Ledger and Ethereum
In a separate expansion tied to RLUSD's broader rollout, Ripple announced that the stablecoin is moving beyond the XRP Ledger and Ethereum. Using Wormhole's Native Token Transfers framework, RLUSD now supports the XRPL EVM Sidechain, Base, Optimism, Ink, and Unichain, extending native transfers across more than 40 blockchain networks. Wormhole is a cross-chain interoperability protocol that enables token and message transfers between separate blockchains, and its native token transfer mechanism is designed to preserve token identity and properties across chains.
Ripple said the multichain expansion allows institutions to move native RLUSD between supported chains without relying on wrapped versions of the token. Wrapped tokens, which are representations of an asset on a chain it was not originally issued on, have historically introduced additional smart contract risk and fragmentation for stablecoin issuers and users. The company said the rollout is targeted at exchanges, decentralized finance protocols, payment applications, and other blockchain-based financial services.
According to CoinMarketCap, RLUSD had a circulating supply of 1.51 billion RLUSD. Ripple has stated that the stablecoin is backed by cash, cash equivalents, and U.S. Treasuries, with monthly independent attestations.
