Ripple to Integrate RLUSD Into Notabene Flow After Strategic Investment

Ripple is bringing Ripple USD (RLUSD) to Notabene’s stablecoin payments platform after making a strategic investment in the compliance network. The companies said the integration will place the dollar-backed token inside Notabene Flow as part of an effort to expand enterprise stablecoin payments.

Ripple and Notabene Plan RLUSD Integration

Notabene said on July 23, 2026, that Ripple had made a strategic investment in the company and that the two firms would work to integrate Ripple USD (RLUSD) into Notabene Flow, according to the company’s announcement.

The companies also said they will explore how trusted payment authorization can complement Ripple Payments. The agreement positions RLUSD as a settlement asset moving through a compliance-focused payments network, rather than only as a token listed for consumer trading.

The confirmed development is Ripple’s strategic investment in Notabene and the planned integration of RLUSD into the Notabene Flow platform. Any effect on XRP or RLUSD markets was not stated by the companies as an outcome of the deal.

Notabene’s Role in Regulated Stablecoin Payments

Notabene describes itself as a compliance layer for regulated digital asset transfers. Its stated network scale is central to the RLUSD integration. The company said its network has facilitated more than $2 trillion in annualized transaction volume, a figure also reported by Ledger Insights.

Notabene says its network connects more than 2,300 institutions across over 100 jurisdictions and serves more than 280 customers. That network gives RLUSD a potential distribution path as a settlement instrument for business payments.

Notabene Flow launched on September 29, 2025, as what the company described as the first open stablecoin payments platform for high-value cross-border business payments. At launch, Notabene said the platform was built on a base of more than 2,000 regulated entities processing over $1 trillion annually, according to its launch announcement.

Compliance is the main reason for the pairing. Routing a stablecoin through pre-vetted, regulated counterparties can support authorization and screening steps that institutional payments require, which are not automatically addressed by a direct wallet-to-wallet transfer. Notabene has built its business around Travel Rule compliance — the FATF Recommendation 16 requirement that virtual asset service providers collect and transmit originator and beneficiary information for qualifying transactions — making it a counterpart to the kind of unregulated transfer that has kept many institutions away from public-chain stablecoin payments.

Jack McDonald of Notabene framed the rationale by saying stablecoins are quickly becoming part of mainstream financial infrastructure, while institutional adoption depends on more than efficient settlement rails alone.

Notabene also shared the news publicly on X, using language that matched its press release.

RLUSD and Ripple’s Stablecoin Strategy

RLUSD is designed to maintain a constant value of one U.S. dollar, is fully backed by segregated reserves, is redeemable 1:1 for U.S. dollars, and is issued natively on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum, according to Ripple. Integrating RLUSD into a regulated network adds a distribution channel directed at business users. Ripple launched RLUSD in December 2024 as its first native stablecoin, entering a market then dominated by Circle’s USDC and Tether’s USDT.

The announcement comes as stablecoin regulation develops in major markets. The companies cited the GENIUS Act in the United States and MiCA in the European Union. The GENIUS Act, signed into U.S. law in 2025, established the first federal regulatory framework for payment stablecoins, setting reserve, disclosure, and supervisory requirements for issuers. MiCA, the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, introduced licensing and conduct-of-business rules for crypto-asset service providers and stablecoin issuers across the bloc. Ripple was also recently added to the ESMA MiCA register across 29 EU markets, a development that supports the compliance-focused context of the integration.

Other distribution efforts for RLUSD have appeared separately, including a Binance-run $800,000 XRP airdrop for RLUSD holders. The Notabene arrangement addresses a different use case by placing RLUSD within institutional payment workflows rather than retail incentive programs.

The agreement also comes as stablecoins are being embedded into broader financial and wallet infrastructure. Related industry activity has included the MetaMask Money account offering stablecoin yield and wallet spending, as well as a $180 million funding round for a stablecoin clearing bank.

At the time the news was reported, XRP traded at $1.11, down about 2.5% on the day, according to CoinGecko. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index stood at 31, categorized as “Fear.”

Notabene said it expects to bring other leading financial institutions onto the platform over the coming quarters as it scales Notabene Flow. That statement is forward-looking and has not been independently confirmed.
