Rasmal Ventures, Qatar's first institutionally backed investment firm—trusted by sovereign wealth funds including the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA)—has confirmed its participation in Yuno's $45 million Series B funding round. Yuno operates an AI-native platform for global payments and financial services, providing infrastructure for enterprise merchants, banks, and digital wallets.
Global PayTech Ventures led the round, with additional participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Tiger Global, QuantumLight Capital, Monashees, Kaszek, and Endeavor Catalyst. Rasmal Ventures joined as a strategic regional investor alongside GrowthX Capital—one of Rasmal's own backers—and Further Ventures, a sovereign-backed investment firm headquartered in Abu Dhabi.
The investment reflects Rasmal's operating philosophy of delivering value to GCC-based companies before deploying capital, positioning the firm as a strategic regional partner for both local and global founders rather than functioning solely as a financial backer.
Yuno has established its regional office in Qatar as a base for broader expansion. In April 2026, Yuno Payments Arabia obtained its Payment Technical Service Provider certification from the Saudi Central Bank. The company's partnership with Tap Payments enabled access to local payment rails including Mada, KNET, and NAPS across all six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. A buy-now-pay-later partnership with Tabby further connected the platform to more than 25 million shoppers across Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
The expansion comes at a notable moment for the region's payments landscape. ACI Worldwide ranks the Middle East as the world's fastest-growing real-time payments market, with growth driven by trade corridors linking the Gulf to Asia—the same wallets, rails, and consumer bases Yuno already serves. The Gulf's push toward digital payments infrastructure is further accelerated by government-led economic diversification programs such as Saudi Vision 2030 and the UAE's National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence, both of which prioritize fintech development and cashless payment adoption.
"The hardest problem in payments is being genuinely local everywhere, and Yuno has solved it at global scale, which is exactly why it resonates in our region," said Soumaya Ben Beya Dridje, Partner at Rasmal Ventures. "The Gulf is now one of the fastest-growing payments markets in the world, and its future runs along the region's new trade corridors, the same wallets, rails, and shoppers Yuno already connects. We invested because Juan Pablo and his team are building the infrastructure those corridors need, and because they pair that global ambition with real financial discipline. That combination is rare, and it's precisely what we back."
Hamad Al Hajri, founder of GrowthX Capital, added: "I have known the founder Juan Pablo since his Rappi journey, Colombia's first unicorn. I believe he is building his next unicorn with Yuno, this time from the GCC, with Qatar as its regional hub."
Through a single API, Yuno connects businesses to over 1,000 payment methods and more than 460 integrations across 190 countries, with intelligent routing, one-click checkout, and AI-powered fraud detection built in. The approach places Yuno in the payment orchestration layer of fintech infrastructure—a category that has attracted significant venture investment as global merchants increasingly seek to unify fragmented regional payment providers through a single integration rather than building country-by-country connections in-house. Over the past year, the company recovered more than $5 billion in otherwise-failed transaction volume for merchants on its network, lifted authorization rates by approximately 5 percent, and saved customers more than $500 million in processing costs. Global brands using Yuno's platform include McDonald's, NetEase Games, GoFundMe, inDrive, and Rappi.
"Most companies raise a Series B to buy growth. We're raising ours to meet our customers' growth, and extend our lead, with a clear line to profitability in the year ahead," said Juan Pablo Ortega, Co-Founder and CEO of Yuno. "Being local everywhere is the hardest problem in payments, and anyone starting on it today is at least two years behind."
The investment marks the latest step in Rasmal Ventures' broader program of building two-way access between Gulf markets and international innovation across the MENA region, Türkiye, and Asia. The participation of both Qatar-based Rasmal Ventures and Abu Dhabi-based Further Ventures signals a continuing trend of GCC sovereign-linked capital supporting cross-border fintech infrastructure, particularly where companies can bridge emerging-market trade corridors with enterprise-grade payment technology.
