Pro Medicus’ (ASX: PME) wholly-owned US subsidiary, Visage Imaging, has signed a seven-year, $25 million contract with Valley Health, which is based in Winchester, Virginia.
Pro Medicus is a Melbourne-headquartered medical imaging software company, and Visage 7 is its flagship enterprise imaging platform, delivered as a fully cloud-based service rather than traditional on-premise PACS software. It is used by hospitals and imaging networks to view, manage and share diagnostic studies such as X-rays, CT and MRI scans.
Valley Health comprises six hospitals across the northern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. Its flagship facility, Valley Health Winchester Medical Centre, is an award-winning regional referral centre and the only Level II trauma centre in the region.
Under the agreement, Valley Health will migrate its legacy PACS (picture archiving and communication system) archive — the system hospitals use to store and retrieve diagnostic images — to Visage 7 Open Archive, and images will be distributed through integration with the health system’s electronic health record (EHR).
Planning for the rollout is set to begin immediately and will follow Visage’s cloud-based implementation process. Go-live is targeted for the first quarter of calendar year 2027, with planning and implementation spanning the period between contract signature and the system becoming operational.
“Valley Health provides award-winning care to their patients and is committed to improving the health of their region,” Pro Medicus chief executive Dr Sam Hupert said.
“They join our established customers in Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic, reflecting an ever-growing list of Visage 7 clients opting for our fully cloud-based platform, which, as a result of our CloudPACS strategy, is becoming the standard in the North American healthcare IT market.
“Notably, they have also opted for our cardiology offering, which will provide Valley Health with a truly unified enterprise imaging solution, a trend we see continuing as increasingly more healthcare enterprises look to consolidate their disparate imaging systems.”
Dr Hupert said the company’s pipeline remains strong and spans all market segments.
“There is growing interest in our ‘Full Stack +1’ solution, comprising all three core Visage products – viewer, workflow, and archive, with the added option of ‘other -ologies’ such as cardiology,” he said.
PME was down 4.10% to $197.57. Market capitalisation was $21.52 billion.
