Posco Opens Hundreds of Entry-Level Jobs in AI Push

Posco Group is hiring hundreds of entry-level employees across six affiliates and research units, placing AI and robotics talent at the heart of its drive to automate operations and develop new growth engines.

The recruitment drive covers about 60 roles spanning production, sales, safety and advanced technology, the group announced Thursday.

The participating organizations include Posco Holdings' Future Technology Research Institute, Posco, Posco International, Posco DX, Posco E&C, and the Research Institute of Industrial Science & Technology.

AI and robotics specialists are a central focus of the campaign. Posco Holdings is seeking researchers in robot perception and control, while Posco and Posco DX are recruiting talent to advance AI transformation across manufacturing sites and office operations. Posco DX, the group's IT services affiliate, has positioned itself as a key vehicle for this push, pursuing AI-related contracts both within the group and with outside clients.

Posco has also established a dedicated AI engineer hiring category for recruits who will work on factory automation and workplace innovation.

In a change to the hiring process, the group has replaced traditional essay questions with activity-based descriptions. Applicants will instead detail their achievements and experience, giving them greater flexibility to showcase their skills and strengths.

The campaign supports Posco Group's "Triple-Core" strategy, unveiled in July, which reorganizes its portfolio around industrial, strategic and energy resources. The shift toward AI and automation reflects broader pressure on global steelmakers, which have been contending with weak demand and intense competition from low-cost Chinese supply, prompting heavy industry players to seek efficiency gains and new revenue streams beyond traditional steelmaking. By securing talent in key growth fields, the group aims to reinforce its position as Korea's leading supplier of critical resources.

Applications are open through Sept. 16 on Posco's recruitment website. The group will also hold online and offline recruiting events, including career counseling sessions with current employees.
