Porsche Philippines, operated by Autoextreme Performance, Inc., celebrated three decades of operations last week with the unveiling of two standout models: a bespoke, one-of-one 911 Targa 4 GTS commemorating the anniversary, and the most powerful series-production 911 to date, the 911 Turbo S.
President and CEO Roberto Coyiuto III reflected on the vision of his father, Principal and Founder Robert Coyiuto, Jr., who introduced the brand to the Philippine market in 1996 — a period when the country's luxury automotive sector was still in its early stages of development following liberalization reforms earlier that decade. The elder Coyiuto had a "simple but meaningful vision to bring one of the world's most iconic sports car brands closer to Filipino enthusiasts," Coyiuto III said.
"Over the past three decades, Porsche Philippines has continually evolved from our beginnings in 1996," he continued. That evolution encompassed not only a broader model lineup — making more Porsches available to Filipino buyers — but also "embracing the future through the Taycan and our dedicated high-voltage center," a reference to Porsche's first fully electric model line and the specialized service infrastructure required to maintain it.
The anniversary 911 Targa 4 GTS was developed in collaboration with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, the brand's in-house customization division based in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, which allows customers to configure vehicles with individual paint colors, materials, and detailing unavailable on standard production cars. Inspired by the "vibrant colors of a Philippine sunrise," the car features a bespoke pastel orange exterior paired with matching stitching and "exclusive leather appointments" in the cabin. Porsche Philippines said in a release that the vehicle "symbolizes both Porsche Philippines' remarkable journey over the past three decades and the exciting road ahead." The car also incorporates handcrafted Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur details, Porsche's latest T-Hybrid technology — the first hybrid system applied to the 911 lineup in its six-decade history — and a new 3.6-liter boxer engine.
Alongside the anniversary model, Porsche showcased the 911 Turbo S, described as the most powerful series-production 911 ever produced. Its new T-Hybrid powertrain delivers 711 hp and 800 Nm. The vehicle benefits from advancements in chassis technology, aerodynamics, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), and a titanium sports exhaust system, all while maintaining everyday usability.
Porsche Asia-Pacific Regional Director Dr. Henrik Dreier traveled from Germany for the event and addressed attendees with remarks on the brand's enduring identity.
"Before we speak about anniversaries, milestones, or even cars, I would like to begin with a simple phrase that has defined Porsche for generations: There is no substitute. More than a slogan, it is a reflection of what makes Porsche unique and why our sports cars continue to inspire people around the world," Dr. Dreier said.
He emphasized that Porsche is entering one of the most exciting periods in its history, spanning established communities and new generations of enthusiasts alike. "The region continues to demonstrate both passion for our heritage and excitement for our future. Among these markets, the Philippines holds a very special place; for me, especially because I've known them personally for a long time. It's great to see how far Porsche Philippines has gone. For 30 years, Porsche Philippines has represented the brand with passion, dedication, and commitment to the customers. It has cultivated a vibrant community of enthusiasts and owners by continuously raising the standards of the Porsche ownership experience in this market."
Dr. Dreier also recognized the Porsche Training and Recruitment Center Asia, which Robert Coyiuto, Jr. established in Manila in 2008 in partnership with Porsche AG and Don Bosco Technical Institute. "It would later become the foundation for Porsche after-sales vocational education or pave a program that continues to create opportunities for young talents around the world. That is a legacy of the Philippines you can truly be proud of," he said.
Looking ahead, Roberto Coyiuto III highlighted the upcoming Porsche Center Manila, scheduled to open next year. The facility, he said, "is a testament to our commitment to delivering an even more exceptional Porsche experience for generations to come."
