PH1 World Developers, Inc., the real estate arm of Megawide Construction Corp., has earned special recognition for national housing development for its Avesta Residences project at the 2026 PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards. The award was presented during the ceremony on Aug. 20 at Shangri-La The Fort in Taguig City. The PropertyGuru honors are part of an annual regional awards program covering Southeast Asian property markets, with winners selected by an independent panel of judges.
Avesta Residences is one of the company's projects under the government's Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) program, which seeks to increase the supply of affordable housing and help address the country's estimated 6.5-million housing backlog, the company said in a statement on Monday. The Expanded 4PH is the administration's flagship shelter initiative, institutionalized through Executive Order No. 34 in 2023 with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) as lead implementing agency, giving private-sector recognition such as this a pointed backdrop as the program scales up.
For the project, PH1 World Developers tapped Megawide as the contractor, drawing on the construction company's vertically integrated platform and precast technology to support faster and more consistent housing delivery. Megawide has applied the same industrialized building method in earlier large-scale projects, including airport terminal and government school-building works, where off-site manufacturing of components is used to compress construction timelines.
"PH1 World Developers and Megawide are aligned in our goal of creating a First-World Philippines, where more Filipinos can experience First-World Living in the Philippines. By leveraging our Precast Technology, we are able to deliver quality homes faster while keeping them accessible and affordable for Filipino families," PH1 World Developers President Ma. Gilda "Gigi" Alcantara said.
On Aug. 4, PH1 World Developers and Megawide topped off the first of five towers at Avesta Residences, marking a construction milestone for the project and leaving four more towers to rise at the development in the months ahead.
The same PropertyGuru awards also recognized other industry players: Cebu Landmasters, Inc. was named Best Developer, while Landco Pacific Corp.'s The Spinnaker and P.A. Properties Hankyu Hanshin, Inc.'s Idesia were named Best Condo Development (Philippines) and Best Housing Development (Philippines), respectively.
