Oregon Pacific Bank has announced the appointment of Dan Petrillo, President and Chief Executive Officer of LaPorte Insurance, to its Board of Directors. The appointment adds more than two decades of leadership experience across insurance, risk management, workplace safety, and community service to the board of the Oregon community bank. Directors at community banks carry governance and oversight duties that span lending standards, regulatory compliance, and institutional risk—areas that intersect directly with the insurance and loss-prevention career Petrillo brings to the role.
At LaPorte Insurance, Petrillo leads one of Oregon's largest locally held independent insurance agencies, guiding the firm's continued growth while building a culture centered on service, integrity, and client advocacy.
Over the course of his career, Petrillo has focused on helping mid-market businesses across the Pacific Northwest understand and manage risk. He advises owners and executives on commercial property and casualty coverage, workers' compensation strategy, workplace safety and injury prevention, employee benefits, and the operational decisions that drive an organization's long-term cost of risk. Before joining LaPorte Insurance, he served as a safety management consultant with SAIF Corporation, Oregon's state-chartered workers' compensation insurer, working directly with Oregon employers on loss prevention and claims outcomes.
“Dan's commitment to serving businesses and communities aligns closely with the values that guide Oregon Pacific Bank,” said Amber White, President and CEO of Oregon Pacific Bank. “His leadership experience, strategic perspective, and deep understanding of risk will be a valuable asset to our Board as we continue supporting the individuals, businesses, and organizations that help our communities thrive.”
Under Petrillo's leadership, LaPorte Insurance has expanded steadily across Oregon, adding six additional locations and welcoming established community agencies into the firm while deepening its work with mid-market businesses throughout the region. That vantage point gives him working familiarity with the operational and cost pressures facing the local businesses and organizations the Bank describes serving—context that complements the relationship-driven model Petrillo himself points to in community banking.
“I have long admired the role community banks play in helping local businesses and communities succeed,” said Petrillo. “Oregon Pacific Bank's presence across the state reflects the same commitment to local relationships that guides our work at LaPorte. I am honored to join the Board and look forward to supporting the Bank's mission of building strong relationships, keeping decision-making local, and creating lasting value for the communities it serves.”
Petrillo is a graduate of Georgetown University, where he earned a degree in political science. He lives in Sandy, Oregon, with his wife, Sarah, and their four children.
Community bank boards typically organize their oversight through committees such as audit, loan, and risk review, and any committee role for Petrillo would be outlined in future bank disclosures—offering a concrete view of where his risk-management background is applied first.
