Key Takeaways

  • Ondo Network is live and currently powers Ondo Perps, the company’s perpetual futures platform.
  • Ondo said the network is designed to separate execution, verification and settlement to improve market performance.
  • The system relies on secure hardware enclaves and distributed attestors to support fast, private and verifiable processing.
  • Ondo said the network preserves non-custodial ownership and generates signed execution records for users and auditors.
  • The company said the network may later expand to support spot trading, lending, structured products and tokenized asset markets.
Ondo Finance Launches Ondo Network for Fast, Verifiable Onchain Execution

Ondo Finance has launched the Ondo Network, a new execution layer for open financial markets. The network is now live and powers Ondo Perps, a perpetual futures platform launched earlier this month. The rollout reflects Ondo’s effort to build infrastructure aimed at market activity that needs faster execution and verifiable records without relying on a fully custodial model.

Ondo shifts toward execution infrastructure

Rather than building a traditional new blockchain, Ondo said it is focusing on execution, which it described as one of the biggest constraints in modern crypto markets.

The company said financial applications have long struggled to balance speed, privacy, transparency and decentralization. According to Ondo, public blockchain-based exchanges can offer speed but often lack privacy and trusted execution, while centralized exchanges can provide lower latency and trusted execution but require users to place significant trust in the operator.

Ondo said the goal of the network is to separate execution, verification and settlement in a way the industry has not yet seen. The company said this approach allows applications to process transactions much faster without sacrificing user control of assets or cryptographic assurances.

How the network works

The Ondo Network is built around secure hardware enclaves, also known as trusted execution environments. These enclaves run applications in isolation and are designed to deliver speeds similar to centralized exchanges.

Instead of requiring every participant in the network to verify and copy every transaction, Ondo said the system uses a distributed set of attestors. These attestors verify that only approved code is running and carry out security tasks, including confirming interactions on public blockchains.

Designed for speed, privacy and verification

Ondo said execution and settlement require different technical properties. Trading platforms need low latency and confidentiality, while settlement layers need durability and verifiability.

The company said the network is built to operate at high performance inside secure enclaves without settlement on public networks, while still preserving non-custodial ownership. It also produces signed execution records that users and auditors can review independently to validate transactions without exposing sensitive trading data, a design meant to make private execution auditable rather than opaque.

Ondo Perps is the first application

Ondo Perps is the first product on the Ondo Network. The perpetual futures trading platform is intended to deliver professional-grade performance without giving up on onchain design principles.

Ondo said the network will not be limited to derivatives trading. It is intended to support a broader range of crypto-native financial products, including spot trading venues, lending protocols, structured products and tokenized asset markets.

The company also said it plans to make the network more distributed over time through expanded attestor participation, additional onchain settlement capabilities, proof-of-stake security mechanisms and more cryptographic proofs.

Ondo’s launch marks a shift away from positioning blockchains as the primary product. Instead, the company said it is now focused on core functions for financial markets: speed, privacy, verifiability, composability and user-controlled assets.
