Ondo Finance has launched Ondo Intelligent Portfolios, a new onchain product category that delivers curated investment portfolios as single, transferable tokens. The three portfolio tokens unveiled today are based on portfolio strategies powered by BlackRock and developed by BlackRock for Ondo, marking the first time eligible onchain investors can access exposure to such strategies through a single token.

The announcement, made in New York on Sept. 24, 2026, means diversified, professionally constructed strategies—historically accessible only through brokerage accounts and traditional fund structures—can now reach eligible non-US investors in permitted jurisdictions as peer-to-peer transferable tokens, available through the wallets, exchanges, and DeFi applications they already use.

Model portfolios of this kind—pre-built allocations that an asset manager designs, weights, and updates on an investor's behalf—are a staple of traditional wealth management, and the strategies here come from BlackRock, one of the world's largest asset managers. What changes with this launch is delivery: the strategy becomes a transferable token that moves wallet-to-wallet rather than an allocation unlocked through a brokerage or advisory relationship, with availability still governed by jurisdictional eligibility rules.

Distribution, however, is only part of the story. According to Ondo, bringing portfolios onchain unlock novel capabilities: rebalancing that executes automatically at the smart contract level, fully programmable portfolios composable with the broader onchain economy, and the potential to combine asset classes within a single token. Ondo Intelligent Portfolios establishes the infrastructure needed to bring portfolios based on leading asset managers' strategies onchain.

Holding a portfolio token provides economic exposure to the portfolio's underlying basket of assets. Each portfolio token is issued by Ondo Global Markets and tokenized by Ondo Finance. Investors mint or redeem a single token to hold a weighted basket of tokenized assets, without having to buy, weight, or rebalance individual positions themselves. Holdings, weights, and every rebalance are visible onchain, and the tokens are transferable peer-to-peer across wallets, exchanges, and DeFi protocols.

Ondo said it intends to expand the product line with additional onchain portfolios over time. The near-term markers to watch are the pace of that expansion, whether eligibility extends to additional jurisdictions, and how broadly the tokens are integrated across exchanges and DeFi protocols.
