Nvidia in Talks to Invest Up to $10 Billion in Anthropic IPO

Nvidia is in talks to invest up to $10 billion in Anthropic’s planned initial public offering as an anchor investor, Reuters reported on Friday. The proposed investment would give Nvidia a major stake in the AI company’s listing.

Nvidia’s stock was trading at around $218.29, down 0.03% on the day. The company trades under the ticker NVDA.

Anthropic is seeking to raise as much as $100 billion at a valuation of roughly $2 trillion. If completed at that target valuation, the offering could become the largest IPO in history. The plans remain under negotiation and could change. The proposed offering size, valuation, timing, and Nvidia’s eventual allocation would therefore depend on the final terms.

Anchor investors agree to purchase a defined portion of an IPO before the offering is marketed more broadly. Their participation can provide an early indication of institutional support for a listing. For an offering of Anthropic’s proposed size, Nvidia’s involvement would make it a prominent participant.

Nvidia and Anthropic already have substantial financial ties. In November 2025, Nvidia announced that it would invest up to $10 billion in Anthropic as part of a broader commercial partnership. That agreement also included Anthropic’s commitment to purchase $30 billion of Microsoft Azure computing capacity powered by Nvidia chips.

Anthropic’s Revenue Growth and Infrastructure Commitments

Anthropic’s annualized revenue run rate exceeded $65 billion by the end of July, compared with approximately $9 billion at the end of 2025. The increase is among the factors supporting the company’s plans for a public listing.

Anthropic also raised $65 billion in May at a post-money valuation of $965 billion. An IPO at the proposed $2 trillion valuation would represent a significant increase from that figure within a few months.

Amazon and Google are among Anthropic’s existing backers, and both companies are also major suppliers of the startup’s computing infrastructure. In April, Anthropic committed to spending more than $100 billion over a decade with Amazon Web Services. It also plans to use more than one million of Amazon’s Trainium2 chips.

Anthropic has separately agreed with Google and Broadcom to add multiple gigawatts of TPU capacity as it works to meet demand for its Claude artificial-intelligence services.

U.S. IPO Market Sets Records

The U.S. IPO market has already recorded a historic year. Excluding special-purpose acquisition companies, U.S. IPOs raised $137 billion through the end of August, according to Dealogic.

Anthropic’s potential listing would follow SpaceX’s debut in June. That blockbuster offering helped drive the U.S. market to its record levels.

The Anthropic IPO is expected to be completed before the U.S. midterm elections in November. The company is also projecting revenue of approximately $190 billion to $200 billion in 2028, a forecast that supports its target valuation of around $2 trillion.

Anthropic declined to comment. Nvidia did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters.
