In response to the earthquake that struck communities across Mindanao in June 2026, Nissan Philippines, Inc. (NPI) has announced its solidarity with the Filipino people by extending support to two humanitarian organizations — the Philippine Red Cross and the Angat Buhay Foundation — to assist affected families as they recover from the disaster.

The Japanese automaker, together with its employees, made donations to both organizations to bolster their ongoing humanitarian initiatives and aid in community rebuilding efforts. By channeling support through groups already active in disaster response and community assistance, Nissan Philippines is backing relief networks positioned to reach affected families during the recovery period.

"During difficult times, it's important for us to be there for the communities we serve," said Yoshinori Kanazawa, President of Nissan Philippines. "We're thankful to the Philippine Red Cross and Angat Buhay for the important work they do in supporting those affected by disasters. We hope these donations can help bring some relief to families as they recover and rebuild."

The collaboration with the Philippine Red Cross builds on Nissan Philippines' long-standing disaster response partnership with the organization, reinforcing programs designed to deliver immediate humanitarian assistance to communities impacted by natural disasters. Separately, Nissan Philippines maintains an ongoing partnership with the Angat Buhay Foundation, supporting outreach efforts that assist vulnerable families during times of crisis.

The Philippine Red Cross, the country's premier humanitarian organization, has been a consistent first responder in major natural disasters, providing emergency medical services, relief goods, and blood supply. The Angat Buhay Foundation, founded by former Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo, focuses on uplifting marginalized communities through programs spanning disaster response, education, and community development.

Nissan Philippines, the local subsidiary of Japanese automaker Nissan Motor Co., has been operating in the country since 2013 and has consistently engaged in corporate social responsibility initiatives, particularly in disaster relief and community support. Its latest donations continue that approach by pairing company and employee contributions with established humanitarian partners rather than direct company-led distribution.
