MocaMoca says Philippine user base surpasses 20 million

ONLINE lending platform MocaMoca said it has surpassed 20 million users in the Philippines, five years after it began operations.

The milestone comes as digital lenders continue to expand access to formal credit for borrowers who may have limited access to traditional bank loans, with providers increasingly emphasizing faster application flows, automated approvals, and mobile wallet integrations.

“Many Filipinos still face barriers when accessing formal credit. Our goal is to remove those barriers through a lending experience that is simple, transparent, and built around the needs of borrowers, while maintaining the highest standards of responsibility and consumer protection,” Copperstone Lending, Inc. Chief Executive Officer David Balamon said in a statement on Monday.

Copperstone Lending said women account for more than 60% of its borrower base, which it said aligns with its goal of serving underserved sectors, including those managing household and micro-enterprise finance.

“As digital finance continues to evolve, our focus remains on helping more Filipinos access formal credit responsibly. We’ll continue investing in responsible innovation that makes borrowing more accessible, transparent, and secure, while supporting the country’s broader financial inclusion goals,” Mr. Balamon said.

MocaMoca offers collateral-free loans of up to P50,000 through a digital application process that requires only one valid government-issued identification (ID).

The platform said it provides automated approvals around the clock, allowing fund disbursement in as fast as five minutes. It also features a structured credit growth path with scalable credit limits, transparent terms, and payday-aligned repayment cycles.

MocaMoca is integrated with GCash, Maya, Coins.ph, and GrabPay for loan disbursements and repayments.
