MEXC, a pioneer in 0-fee digital asset trading, has launched the RealStocks API with 0 commissions, a new tool designed for quantitative traders looking to automate their trading and build customized strategies on the platform.
RealStocks is a cross-market trading product introduced by MEXC in partnership with regulated broker Atomic Vaults Securities (AVS), opening a new channel for U.S. stock investment. Eligible users can purchase real shares of publicly listed U.S. companies directly using USDT, with full shareholding rights, dividend entitlements, and other benefits associated with direct stock ownership where applicable. The product currently covers more than 7,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs, and within its first month more than 120,000 users opened RealStocks accounts on the platform.
The RealStocks API enables users to automate their RealStocks trades and implement customized trading strategies programmatically. Designed for quantitative traders, the API offers greater flexibility to build and execute trading logic tailored to their own strategies. Programmatic access has long been a standard offering at traditional brokerages serving algorithmic traders, such as Interactive Brokers and Alpaca, and MEXC’s launch extends that capability to a platform where funding and settlement run in USDT.
The launch follows MEXC’s RealStocks upgrade earlier this month, which introduced new features to improve market access, simplify fund management, and support long-term investing. It marks a further step in the exchange’s ongoing efforts to enhance its U.S. stock trading products. It also fits a wider industry pattern: crypto exchanges have been steadily adding U.S. equity products — Bybit, for instance, offers tokenized stocks, and Kraken has rolled out stock and ETF trading for U.S. customers — even as traditional brokers such as Robinhood deepen their crypto offerings.
MEXC said it remains committed to empowering users to seize global market opportunities through its two core brand pillars, “0 Fees” and “Infinite Opportunities.” Beyond RealStocks, MEXC’s stock-related product suite includes Stock Futures, tokenized stocks, and Pre-IPO opportunities, giving users multiple ways to access the U.S. equity market without switching platforms or accounts. In addition, the exchange’s annual brand campaign, 0808: Stock Season, is currently underway, offering 0-fee trading on RealStocks and other stock-related products, along with the opportunity to share a $500,000 prize pool. How quickly quantitative traders adopt the new API is a key metric to watch, with the 120,000 RealStocks accounts opened in the first month providing an early benchmark for demand.
