New-token trading activity
The number of users trading new tokens on MEXC rose 21% month over month in August. The 10 tokens with the highest peak gains recorded an average peak gain of 3,358%, a 145% month-over-month increase. Niu Lai (牛来) ranked first, with a peak gain of 14,143%.
Five of the tokens in the top 10 by peak gain also appeared among the 10 largest new tokens by Spot trading volume. Together, those five tokens accounted for 65% of the trading volume generated by the top 10 new tokens ranked by volume.
Memecoins represented five of the 10 highest-volume new tokens and contributed 55% of their combined trading volume. Projects in artificial intelligence, real-world assets (RWA), decentralized finance (DeFi), and cross-chain infrastructure accounted for the remaining 45%. MEXC said that while memecoins led trading activity, utility-focused projects in AI, RWA, and DeFi also attracted strong interest.
Growth in tokenized stocks and precious metals
TradFi Spot activity expanded further into stock-related assets during August. Trading volume for tokenized stocks increased 31% month over month, making it the largest contributor to growth in TradFi Spot. Tokenized stocks including CRCL, NBIS, and SPCX ranked among the 10 assets with the highest trading volume.
Gold-related assets also remained active. Trading volume for GOLD (PAXG) rose 43% month over month, placing it first among TradFi Spot assets.
Precious-metals Futures recorded a different pattern across individual assets. Overall trading volume increased 32% month over month, leaving precious metals as the largest asset class by volume in TradFi Futures. XAU volume rose 57%, while SILVER increased 39% and XAUT declined 10%. MEXC said the growth was concentrated primarily in XAU and silver-related assets rather than being evenly distributed across the category.
Campaigns and company statement
MEXC said it supported participation across crypto and traditional markets through campaigns and product-access initiatives. In August, the platform launched three flagship campaigns focused on TradFi, xStocks, and MOVE. Each campaign had a total prize pool of 1 million USDT.
The “TradFi Million-Dollar Gala” attracted more than 174,000 registrations and generated an average daily trading volume of 4.2 billion USDT. The xStocks flagship campaign included tokenized stocks such as NVDAX, CRCLX, and TSLAX.
MEXC CEO Vugar Usi said, “Whether users are looking at early-stage tokens, stocks, or precious metals, they want fast and convenient access when new trading opportunities emerge. MEXC will continue expanding its cross-asset coverage, reducing unnecessary friction between markets, and giving users more flexibility to trade different asset classes on a single platform.”
