MEXC July Report: Stock Futures Volume Rises 111%, Tokenized Equities Dominate 62% of TradFi Spot Trading

MEXC, a zero-fee digital asset trading platform, has released its July trading highlights, revealing sharp growth in individual stock futures and a significant shift toward tokenized equities on its TradFi spot market.

Individual stock futures volume grew 111% compared to June, while tokenized US stocks became the largest category on MEXC's TradFi spot market, accounting for 62% of total spot volume.

The share of MEXC's TradFi futures volume attributable to individual stocks has now risen for three consecutive months, reaching 30% in July. That trend outpaced the exchange's overall TradFi futures segment, which expanded 27% during the same period, showing that stock-linked instruments are gaining share within a broader market that is still being led by traditional benchmark assets.

Gold remained the largest single source of TradFi futures volume. The two gold instruments, XAU and XAUT, held the first and second positions by volume, collectively producing nearly half of all TradFi futures activity. The larger of the two, XAU, grew 126% in a single month.

Trading activity nonetheless continued shifting toward individual stocks. SanDisk futures ranked third by volume in July, trailing only the two gold contracts. The flash memory maker's contract volume surged more than 15-fold in a month, surpassing silver, oil, and the S&P index. Together, SanDisk, SK Hynix, and Micron accounted for 18% of all TradFi futures volume traded during July. All three companies manufacture the memory chips consumed by AI data centers, a sector that has seen substantial gains — The Motley Fool reported a one-year gain approaching 700% for Micron and nearly 4,000% for SanDisk. MEXC lists storage companies from the United States, South Korea, Japan, and China, consolidating the global sector on a single platform.

On the TradFi spot market, tokenized US stocks took 62% of total volume in July, up from holding just two of the ten most traded spot seats two months earlier. SpaceX, Circle, Micron, and Tesla all placed in July's top ten spot instruments, alongside gold, the euro, and oil, underscoring how the venue is mixing traditional macro assets with tokenized exposure to prominent private and public companies.

Robinhood launched its own blockchain on July 1 — an Ethereum Layer 2 built on Arbitrum and designed for tokenized stocks and other real-world assets. MEXC listed the ecosystem's breakout assets early, and six of the exchange's ten most traded new listings in July came from Robinhood Chain.

Memecoins captured the earliest flows from the chain, taking three of the ten most traded new-listing slots. Three utility projects followed: a token launch service, a lender accepting tokenized stocks as collateral, and a protocol distributing tokenized stock dividends to holders. The remaining four slots went to other chains: two BNB Chain memecoins and two Solana projects — one memecoin and one SocialFi application.

Memecoins also dominated the monthly gain rankings. July's ten strongest new listings averaged a peak gain of 1,371%, with six being memecoins and only one tied to AI. A month earlier, the same list had been skewed toward AI-linked tokens.

"When Robinhood put a blockchain on mainnet, our job was to have its assets listed before the crowd arrived, and we did," said Vugar Usi, CEO of MEXC. "Speed to listing is how an exchange serves this market, whether the asset is a memecoin or a memory-chip future."

MEXC conducted four featured campaigns in July, with more than 100,000 users registering for them. The largest, TradFi Gala, offered a prize pool of up to 1 million USDT for futures traders and generated over 3.5 billion USDT in trading volume.

Airdrop+, the platform's giveaway program, allows users to complete deposit and trade tasks in exchange for shares of token prize pools. July's twelve Airdrop+ campaigns paid out from a combined pool exceeding 500,000 USDT, and the program introduced a second track for larger, established tokens.

The full July report, including complete token tables and campaign data, is available on the MEXC blog.
