President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump appeared to be engaged in a heated conversation while attending the "Freedom 250 IndyCar Grand Prix" in Washington, D.C., and a professional lip reader interviewed by The Daily Mirror believes he knows what the couple was discussing.

Video of the exchange shows Mrs. Trump leaning in to speak with the president, who appears to listen closely. The First Lady then waits for a response before replying to him while holding up two fingers.

Lip reader Jeremy Freeman told the Mirror that parts of the exchange were blocked from view, but he believes the conversation began with Mrs. Trump saying: "That's the problem, people react."

According to Freeman, the president replied: "We'll knock it off."

The First Lady then responded in what he characterized as a "snappy" tone: "Are you?"

While the next section of the conversation was obscured, Mrs. Trump can be seen saying at one point, "It happened two times."

Trump answered: "I know."

Mrs. Trump concluded: "I can't take any more."

Freeman is one of a small group of forensic lip readers whom British tabloids regularly commission to interpret muted footage of public figures. The practice has inherent limits — many speech sounds look identical on the lips and sightlines are easily blocked — which is why Freeman, like Hickling below, framed his account as informed interpretation rather than verbatim transcript.

The footage went viral on X as insiders worked to determine whether the debate concerned news surrounding top Trump aide Natalie Harp, who hosted programs at One America News before joining the president's staff. After Mrs. Trump walked away, Harp was seen briefly walking over to the president.

Harp also spoke with the president's son Eric Trump, according to a previous report from The Mirror. In that exchange, lip reader Nicola Hickling believes Harp said "apparently it's fun," referring to the Trump-promoted race. Eric Trump appears to have replied, "I haven't seen this many cars."

"Don't worry, we will have fun," Harp said in response, according to Hickling.

"Hopefully," Eric Trump responded, according to Hickling. "Will your car win?"

Last week, the First Lady returned to the White House to discuss one of her initiatives involving children aging out of the foster care system, a cause she has championed since her first term through her "Be Best" platform and its "Fostering the Future" scholarship effort.

"I heard you missed me. Here I am," Mrs. Trump said, stepping up to the podium. "Here I am! Welcome to the White House."

Behind the scenes, Mrs. Trump may have her own version of Harp, wrote Sarah Baxter, director of the Marie Colvin Center for International Reporting. That includes "a handsome, long-haired tech dude called Marc Beckman, who goes by the grandiose title 'Exclusive Senior Advisor to First Lady Melania Trump,'" Baxter wrote.

"Beckman, it turns out, has been advising Melania ever since her eponymous $40 million Amazon docuseries," Baxter said. "Two sequels are in the works. On his LinkedIn page, Beckman describes himself as a 'strategic advisor, producer and cultural architect operating at the intersection of global policy, media and emerging technology.' He also writes about AI, crypto and robotics."

Mrs. Trump appears close to releasing another series about her life.
