Massive, a provider of financial market data, announced the general availability of x402 payments for its U.S. stock market data in partnership with Coinbase.
Through x402, AI agents can discover and pay for individual data requests in USDC as part of a standard HTTP interaction. Coinbase Developer Platform’s facilitator verifies and settles each payment before Massive returns the requested data, adding a pay-per-request path alongside conventional API access.
“More and more of our traffic is coming from agents, whether through our LLM-friendly markdown docs or our new MCP server. Discovery has to work the same way; agent-first. Being listed in the x402 Bazaar means an agent can find our data and pay for it in the middle of a task, so the person waiting on the other end gets an answer without full onboarding friction and can make a decision in that moment with the exact data that is critical to their workflow,” said Stevie Palmateer, VP of Product Engineering at Massive.
“For AI agents to make informed trading decisions, they need real-time access to the best market data—without the friction of API keys, subscriptions, or human provisioning. Massive’s equities data API joining the x402 ecosystem means trading agents can now discover and pay for live stock data per request, settled instantly with stablecoins. This is a critical building block for the future of agentic finance and trading,” said Kevin Leffew, Developer Partnerships at Coinbase and co-author of x402.
Massive said its x402 routes are available through a dedicated subdomain and can also be found on Agentic.Market and in the x402 Bazaar. The company said the routes provide an additional way to access Massive data and do not affect existing subscriptions. Current customers can continue using their API keys, subscriptions, and endpoints without any changes.
