Maruti Suzuki India Limited has commenced commercial production at the fourth plant of its Hansalpur manufacturing facility in Gujarat, bringing the site's total annual production capacity to 1 million vehicles.

This milestone makes the Gujarat complex India's largest passenger vehicle manufacturing facility by annual capacity. It also stands as the single largest manufacturing site globally for Suzuki Motor Corporation, Maruti Suzuki's Japanese parent company and majority shareholder.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited, headquartered in New Delhi, is India's largest passenger vehicle manufacturer by domestic market share. The company operates additional manufacturing plants in Gurgaon and Manesar, Haryana. The Gujarat facility, located in the Ahmedabad district, is operated through Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation that supplies vehicles exclusively to Maruti Suzuki.

The expansion comes as India consolidates its position as one of the world's largest and fastest-growing passenger vehicle markets. Gujarat in particular has emerged as a major automotive manufacturing hub, with multiple OEMs establishing production bases in the state. Suzuki Motor Corporation has increasingly relied on its Indian operations not only for domestic sales but also as an export base, shipping vehicles to markets across Africa, Latin America, and neighboring Asian countries.

The expanded Hansalpur site reinforces the company's production capabilities as it continues to serve both domestic and export markets.
