The Magnum Ice Cream Company has issued a voluntary recall covering all lots of certain Reese's and Almond Joy ice cream bars after an internal review revealed inaccuracies in the nutritional information printed on the products' cartons.

The recall applies to Reese's Crunchy Peanut Ice Cream Bars and Almond Joy Ice Cream Bars and extends through the retail store level, according to a recall notice published by SpartanNash, a grocery distributor and retailer that operates stores under banners including Family Fare and VG's.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) classifies this as a Class III recall, the lowest of three agency tiers. Class I recalls involve situations where there is a reasonable probability of serious adverse health consequences or death, while Class II covers temporary or medically reversible effects. Class III, as in this case, applies when exposure to or use of a product "is not likely to cause adverse health consequences."

The Magnum Ice Cream Company stated that certain nutritional information was incorrectly declared on the nutrition panel. However, the ingredients and allergen details listed on the packaging remain accurate, according to the notice. This distinction is notable because inaccurate allergen labeling typically triggers more serious recall classifications, as undeclared allergens are a leading cause of FDA-mandated food recalls.

The affected products can be identified by the following Universal Product Codes (UPCs):

• Reese's Crunchy Peanut Ice Cream Bars: UPC 8-40473-40024-5, sold in six-count packages.
• Almond Joy Ice Cream Bars: UPC 8-40473-40029-0.

All lot codes of both products are included in the recall.
