Lean Solutions Group Acquires SupportZebra to Expand AI-Enabled Outsourcing

Lean Solutions Group (LSG) is expanding its business process outsourcing operations through the acquisition of SupportZebra, a deal that will push the company's workforce in the Philippines past 2,000 employees.

The Miami-based company announced the acquisition on Aug. 24, saying the transaction strengthens its service model across automotive, fintech, e-commerce, software and health care while adding SupportZebra's customer support and back-office capabilities to its existing technology platform.

Founded in 2011, SupportZebra has more than 1,300 employees across the Philippines and Mexico combined and serves more than 40 clients. The company provides outsourced customer experience and business support, including customer service, technical support and back-office functions. Its employees operate as an extension of clients' existing teams, handling customer interactions and other day-to-day tasks that companies would otherwise need to staff internally.

With the acquisition, LSG will have more than 2,000 employees across three Philippine markets: Metro Manila, Cagayan de Oro and Cebu. LSG said its Philippine workforce has grown more than 12-fold in two years, reflecting what the company described as increased demand for outsourced business and technology services in the country. That demand is set against the backdrop of the Philippines' established IT-BPM sector, one of the country's largest employers and a major source of export revenue, which has made the country a long-standing destination for Western companies seeking outsourced support operations.

SupportZebra is headquartered in Cagayan de Oro, where it was founded in 2011. The company began as FBC Solutions, a 15-seat call center, before expanding both its workforce and its services.

SupportZebra initially built its business around outsourced customer support before moving into technical support, virtual assistance and other business-process services. Its clients today include companies in e-commerce, software, fintech, health care, insurance and other sectors — a footprint that aligns with LSG's ambitions for growth beyond the logistics industry.

The company said it is experiencing rapid expansion, particularly in automotive and fintech.

"While transportation and logistics remains Lean Solutions Group's core market, the company is seeing rapid expansion—especially in automotive and fintech," LSG said in an Aug. 24 press release.

In automotive, that expansion includes a partnership with Carparts.com Philippines that was integrated within the last six months and has since been extended through a new multiyear services agreement.

LSG views SupportZebra as a way to extend that model into new markets by pairing its service teams with LSG's technology and global footprint.

"By combining SupportZebra's expert service teams with our global footprint and AI, we are extending our expert-in-the-loop model into new markets and verticals that few companies in the world can serve at this scale," LSG CEO Jack Freker said.

The expansion has also involved a growing emphasis on technology. SupportZebra's services are built to work across the systems and communication channels its clients already use, and the company has added automation and artificial intelligence to parts of its support operations.

SupportZebra uses AI to handle the repetitive and tedious tasks involved in customer support, allowing employees to concentrate on more complicated issues. Its AI-related tools can route tickets, suggest responses to agents, surface customer information and assist with routine tasks.

The company has also discussed the use of agentic AI, describing it as a step beyond traditional chatbots, with software able to make decisions and complete tasks with less human intervention.

"Unlike basic chatbots that only follow scripts, agentic AI can understand requests, make decisions, and complete tasks with little human help," according to SupportZebra.

That technology focus now dovetails with LSG's broader AI strategy. The company has spent much of 2026 building out LeanTek, its AI technology platform that combines automation with human workers. LSG calls the approach "expert-in-the-loop," with employees overseeing AI-driven workflows rather than handing the work entirely to software.

SupportZebra's customers will gain access to LeanTek AgentEdge, which augments human support teams with AI-driven automation. They will also gain access to LeanTek Connect, which provides visibility into workforce management and account performance.

"By combining LeanTek Connect's workforce intelligence and governance capabilities with LeanTek AgentEdge's workflow execution and performance visibility, organizations gain a unified view of AI and human operations supporting smarter decision-making and stronger accountability," LSG said in a July 15 press release.

LSG has continued adding capabilities to LeanTek this year, including tools for workforce intelligence, AI governance, cost visibility and workflow automation.

The deal also gives LSG a way to build business outside transportation and logistics without starting from scratch. SupportZebra already serves companies in software, fintech, health care and insurance, handing LSG an existing customer base in industries it has identified as growth areas. Those relationships could create opportunities for LSG to expand its service offerings as it brings SupportZebra onto its broader technology platform.

The acquisition further expands LSG's operating footprint in the Philippines. LSG has rapidly increased its presence there over the past two years, and SupportZebra adds hundreds of employees and an established operation in Cagayan de Oro to LSG's existing locations in Metro Manila and Cebu. That provides LSG with additional capacity for outsourced work as it pursues customers seeking a combination of human workers and AI-powered tools.

"This deal also significantly deepens the company's footprint in the Philippines, one of the world's premier hubs for technology and English-speaking talent, where SupportZebra has led its market for more than a decade," LSG said in its Aug. 24 acquisition announcement.

For LSG, the strategy is increasingly about pairing technology with the people needed to operate it. The SupportZebra acquisition brings a larger workforce, an established customer base and a bigger presence in the Philippines as the company looks to carry that model beyond transportation. The deal is a working example of how companies are increasingly combining AI and outsourced talent to expand services and reduce the cost of scaling operations — with SupportZebra providing the talent base and new customers that can be brought onto LSG's technology platform.

"This acquisition aligns with Lean Solutions Group's strategy of deepening vertical expertise while layering its LeanTek technology platform across acquired capabilities through innovative, partnership-driven acquisition growth," LSG said in its Aug. 24 acquisition announcement.

The acquisition therefore serves two parts of LSG's expansion at once: adding scale to its outsourcing business and creating more opportunities to deploy LeanTek outside of transportation and logistics. What to watch next is whether LSG can carry SupportZebra's existing software, fintech, health care and insurance clients onto LeanTek as the platform continues to gain capabilities.
