2nd LA CorpGov Forum Set for Sept. 18: Final Agenda Features Activism, Sports and Entertainment at The Huntington Library

CorpGov has published the final agenda for the 2nd LA CorpGov Forum, which will be held on Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, at The Huntington Library in San Marino, California. The venue — the Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens, established by railroad and real-estate magnate Henry E. Huntington and opened to the public in 1928 — is known for its rare-book and manuscript collections, which include a Gutenberg Bible, and for its roughly 120 acres of botanical gardens. Registration begins at 1:00 p.m., opening an afternoon of panels, fireside conversations and networking, followed by a reception at 5:00 p.m. with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres served in the Garden Court.

The forum will bring together members of the financial community from Los Angeles and beyond for panels focused on the finance of entertainment and media, sports, capital markets and shareholder activism. Several of those themes are rooted in the region itself: Los Angeles sits at the center of the U.S. entertainment industry and hosts numerous professional sports franchises. Sports investing has drawn growing institutional attention as major U.S. leagues including the NBA, MLB and the NFL have moved in recent years to permit limited private-equity stakes in franchises, while generative AI has raised copyright and licensing questions across music, film and games. The activism panel's early look ahead to 2027 comes well before next year's proxy season, the period when U.S. activists typically nominate directors and launch campaigns in the run-up to annual meetings. The first LA CorpGov Forum was held on Sept. 4, 2025, at 1500 N El Centro Ave, Los Angeles, California, in the heart of Hollywood.
