Katie Price has reportedly ended her eight-month marriage to Lee Andrews after a cryptocurrency wallet he claimed contained $50 million was found to hold just £2.22, according to multiple reports.

According to The Sun, Andrews had told Price he had around $50 million, roughly £37 million, stored in a crypto wallet, and then gave her the recovery phrase to access the funds. On August 31, Price had a financial expert open the wallet. The expert found approximately $3, or £2.22.

The episode has drawn widespread attention in part because unverifiable crypto wealth claims have become a recurring feature of romance-related fraud cases. Bodies such as the UK's Action Fraud and the US Federal Trade Commission have long warned that dating and romance scams frequently involve false claims of cryptocurrency holdings, and blockchain balances cannot be independently checked without a wallet address or on-chain records — which, as noted below, have not been made public in this case.

The Breakup

Price reportedly sent Andrews a WhatsApp message ending the marriage shortly after the discovery. The Mirror reported the message read: "I have been played and you are not who you say you are. Why have you lied to me?"

A source told The Sun that Price had "come to my senses" and considers the marriage finished. She has reportedly contacted a London divorce lawyer about formally ending the union.

Andrews, 43, remains in Dubai's Al Awir prison, where he has been held since July following an earlier arrest in May. He has denied all accusations of fraud and financial wrongdoing.

The couple met in January 2026, got matching tattoos within days, and married in Dubai just 48 hours after their engagement. That initial ceremony was not legally binding. They formally registered their marriage at Abu Dhabi's Judicial Department on February 17, meaning a formal divorce will be required to end the legal marriage. Because the marriage was registered in the UAE, any formal divorce proceedings would involve the local legal framework Price's London lawyer will need to navigate.

Andrews' Background

Andrews, from Nottinghamshire, claimed to be a multi-millionaire CEO who had lived in Dubai for over 21 years. Photos on his social media showing him with Elon Musk and Kim Kardashian appeared to be AI-generated, according to reports. He claimed to be CEO of Aura Group Future Urban Travel 2027 and an investor in SpaceX Hybrid Fitness; those claims have not been independently verified. The reported use of AI-generated celebrity photos aligns with a broader pattern documented by fraud investigators, in which synthetic images are used to bolster fabricated credentials online.

Andrews was first arrested in May 2026 after going missing for two weeks. He initially claimed he had been detained for espionage but later said it was a private civil matter involving unpaid debts. He was released in June and arrested again in July. He is currently dealing with three civil cases in Dubai.

The Sun reported that the largest amount to pass through the crypto wallet in a single day was $14,490 in March, and that the money left again the same day. No blockchain records or wallet address were provided to verify the figures.

Price was spotted without her wedding ring at Manchester Pride in late August. She had previously stated she would not pay Andrews' bail or financial liabilities while he was detained.
