Welcome to HotCopper’s latest Watchlist, where this week we’ve been joined by Kaoko Metals (ASX:KAO) managing director Gerard O’Donovan to discuss a major new phase of exploration at the Chalkos copper-silver project in Namibia, which includes a maiden diamond drilling programme.

Listen to the HotCopper podcast for in-depth discussions and insights on the biggest headlines from throughout the week on Spotify, Apple, and more.

Speaking to HotCopper in Week 32, Mr O’Donovan said the programme marked “a very important transitional point from planning meaningful works.”

“The IPO has been very successful since two and a half months ago; we’ve done some really value-add work in the fields, but now we really want to test the prospectivity of these projects, specifically Chalkos,” he said.

The move into drilling is a key step in turning field-based groundwork into direct testing of the target area, giving the company a first look at the mineralisation it has been advancing since listing. For investors following early-stage explorers, this is the stage where the project shifts from preparation to physical testing, and it is why the next updates from Chalkos will be closely watched.
