John Deere Unveils See & Spray Gen 2 for Model Year 2027 Machines

John Deere has released See & Spray Gen 2 for model year 2027 machines, according to Zach Becker, the company's See & Spray product marketing manager.

Becker says the latest generation of the targeted spraying technology features a new hardware set that includes a higher resolution camera as well as front-mounted cameras.

"And then starts to incorporate the success from See & Spray Select, Premium, and Ultimate into one new technology base," Becker said.

See & Spray is a camera-based system that detects weeds in the field and sprays herbicide only where they are present, rather than applying it across an entire field. Targeted spraying of this kind is aimed at reducing herbicide use and input costs, an approach that has drawn growing interest across the agricultural equipment industry as manufacturers pursue machine vision and precision application technologies.

Brownfield interviewed Becker at the Farm Progress Show near Boone, Iowa on Wednesday.
