J Kumar Infraprojects has secured a ₹990 crore contract from the Karnataka Housing Board to design and construct an international cricket stadium along with associated infrastructure in Bengaluru.

The project is expected to be completed over the next three years, according to the company. The contract adds to a growing pipeline of large-ticket public infrastructure awards across Indian states, where governments are increasingly investing in sports and urban civic assets alongside traditional roads and metro projects.

J Kumar Infraprojects is an Indian infrastructure company listed on Indian stock exchanges, with operations spanning civil construction, transportation, and urban infrastructure projects. The company has previously executed metro and flyover contracts in cities including Mumbai and Pune, and the Bengaluru stadium order marks a notable expansion of its portfolio into large sports-venue construction.

Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, is one of India's prominent cricket cities and already hosts international matches at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The addition of a new international-standard venue would expand the city's cricket infrastructure at a time when demand for hosting franchise-league matches, including the Indian Premier League and the Women's Premier League, has placed pressure on existing facilities across major Indian metros.
