The Turkish Bunker Association (TBA) has announced that the 10th Istanbul Bunker Conference will be held from May 30 to June 1, 2027, at the Four Seasons Bosphorus Hotel in Istanbul.

The announcement came as TBA celebrated its 25th anniversary at an event on September 5 attended by 85 representatives from its member companies, Mustafa Muhtaroğlu, founding and current chairman of TBA, told Ship & Bunker on Monday.

Founded in 2001 with 10 members, TBA has since grown to 63 members representing different parts of the Turkish bunker industry. Istanbul's position on the Bosphorus, one of the world's major chokepoints for seaborne trade linking the Black Sea and the Mediterranean, has long made the city a significant bunkering location, and the association's growth reflects the breadth of suppliers, brokers, and service providers active in the market.

Muhtaroğlu said the association is one of the oldest organisations in the Turkish maritime industry and brings together players from across the sector.

"I am proud to be the founding chairman of such an association, which is the only one in the Turkish bunker industry. It is a further honour for me to serve again in its 25th year," Muhtaroğlu said.

IBIA, the International Bunker Industry Association, is a strategic partner for the 10th Istanbul conference. The conference series has served as a recurring gathering point for the regional bunker community since its launch, with the tenth edition marking a milestone for the event as well as for the association behind it.
